Right after I exit character creation and try to do something my character's class changes from Wild Mage to Mage. I've tried getting rid of the Dual Class changes I've read about in other topics but that hasn't worked. The other changes I saw proposed were getting rid of the Blademaster kit. I am very new to this and I don't know how to remove a component like this from my installation.

I also can not select any proficency slots at character creation, it lists me as having 0 skill points.

I am using BWS to mod my game. I've tried numerous times to get rid of this bug but nothings worked.

Is this fixable or should I just do save editing with Shadow Keeper?

Well, this is a know bug with mods that edit the kit.ids file inappropreatelly ... you might try to first extract the file using NearInfinity and then make the appropreate change to the wildmage and barbarian classes... or you'll need to reinstall. Unfortunatly for you I can't link to a topic that's related as the G3 is down for now ...

Hi hihihi, see, I didn't have a good link to give, so yes, admittedly I was more than vague than usual.

Thanks for that fix, I may not need it now but I'll drop it in anyway.

I fixed it by reinstalling BWP and excising Revised Battles (or just Blade Master, can't remember which) and anything that changes the Dual Class mechanics. I still couldn't fix not having any proficency slots at character creation, but I just decided to use Shadow Keeper to add those in.

Now I've got another problem. In the area south of Berengost my cursor began to flicker when giving individual characters orders. It would flicker between the regular "hand" cursor, the "sword," and other context sensitive cursors. I could make it stop by going to a menu tab but if I try do do anything more than select a target it would flicker rapidly again. And I could rarely cast spells because the spell button would not register my clicks. When it did work it would immediatly change to a "sword" icon if I so much as brushed past any interactable object.

I tried to search for similar problems to mine but I got nothing.

That kinda seems like some NPC is trying to start a banter and gets interrupted or something

Try resting, healing everyone to full health, removing items from everyone or just moving to a new area :P If you've found which of the causes actually causes the stutter, give us a list of your NPCs and the area code (hit Ctrl + X when your cursor is on the ground and check the dialogue window)

Ooh ooh I forgot you should also try removing your NPCs one by one to see which one of them causes the stuttering dialogue in the first place
