A couple of problems:

1. I place a copy of Baldurs Gate into the BGII - SoA folder and make sure it is named Baldur's Gate (note the apostrophe) the GOG EN version names the installed directory Baldurs Gate, not Baldur's Gate.

2. After typing in the path to Baldur's Gate which already exists in my BGII - SoA directory when it get's to the run patch.exe it hangs on "processing fixes for 1pp" and just sits there.

This is with Windows 7 (32 bit) and the GOG versions. I have read the PDF as carefully as possible, am I doing something wrong?

Run that with admin-rights and try to close anti-something-software..
THINK! - It's not illegal.

Yep did that (as that is what is explicitly stated in the documentation). It's been stuck at "processing fixes for 1pp" for over 30 minutes.Perhaps it failed to find something? I wish there was some kind of log or way to see why this is failing at this step.

I'm no expert on the GOG version, but for a normal install you have to have different install directories ... in other words, install Baldur's Gate into (say) c:\games\baldur's gate, then install baldur's gate II into it's own directory (in the above example, c:\games\BGII - SOA). Never install either into the default c:\program files\ directory ... that way madness lays. You'll be installing your mods (even the ones for bgI) into the BGII - SOA folder.

Yes. That's why I said I placed a COPY of Baldurs Gate into the BGII - SoA folder. Both BG and BGII are installed into their own separate directories.

Guess I'm a bit confused on that one ... you don't place a copy into the BGII - SOA folder at all. Just point the installer at the correct directory (c:\games\baldur's gate) when it asks for it.

Yes, when it fails to find Baldur's Gate I give it the path where it is installed (F:\GOG\Baldurs Gate).

The installer specifically states "There is no Baldur's Gate in the same directory". Even if there IS a copy there. But anyways that is probably some... translation problem or something. Perhaps he meant to say "unable to find the Baldurs Gate install directory. Please type in the path to your Baldurs Gate install directory" or something similar.

Anyways that's not a problem, the problem is nothing is happening when it runs patch.exe "processing fixes for 1pp" and just sits there.:/

No I was trying to use the .bat files to install. Unfortunately Norton Antivirus really really dislikes that file and deletes it from my computer immediately?

Simple solution: delete Norton Antivirus. There are better alternatives available. :)
