In any event, I've got a fairly lightweight kit mod about ready for upload. My concern is the file and object prefixes and potential conflicts with other mods. Not just for this little thing, but for the community as a whole. I know there was a reserved list and index of prefixes being maintained for the old BG mods, but last I saw it hadn't seen much activity since '08.
More over, a lot of the old mods are either not necessary anymore, forgotten, or not compatible. On the other hand, it would suck for an old but major mod to have its prefix taken by a new and unrelated project, making it even harder to update for EE.
Have any standards and practices for this in EE been established, or has the small number of new mods made this conversation unnecessary so far?

"The righteous need not cower before the drumbeat of human progress. Though the song of yesterday fades into the challenge of tomorrow, God still watches and judges us. Evil lurks in the datalinks as it lurked in the streets of yesterday, but it was never the streets that were evil." - Sister Miriam Godwinson, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
