Last night I decided to re-try the Megamod install, this time only doing Total Happiness Plus, as opposed to MegaMod. Problem is, after the downloading, extracting, and silent installs, the main install starts, and then stalls at the same point, and never progresses. I'm not sure what exactly is going on, but when it stalls out, if you mouse over the icon in the tool tray, it always says, "12_Process.au3, Line 332; sleep (750)", and pausing, unpausing, closing it and resuming, never changes it. I've tried reinstalling both BG and BG2, I've started them both up, making a save file in BG, BG Exp, BG2 SOA, and BG2 TOB. Can anyone explain why it now refuses to install without a displayed reason?

To clarify a point in the FAQ, while I never had to do any of this the first time it succesfully installed, the last few stalled attempts have occurred with the antivirus, web, and UAC off.

Once again it stalled out, at the exact same spot, on a brand new install of BG, BG2, and I even deleted and redownloaded the BWS folder. It's hanging on 12_Process.au3, Line 332; sleep (750). If I completely close the application, and restart it says do I want to proceed with Au3Install at MKs BG2 Textpatch Revised, #0?

Stalled out AGAIN, at the same exact spot.

Big World Debug.txt please, upload the file in an archive file, like .zip or .rar, 7z...
It might be that the BWP needs additional input.

I could have sworn I already uploaded it, but sure thing. I know what you mean by additional input, seeing as I had to do so with the previous install (Megamod Plus), but I didn't see any the last 5 failed attempts.

Some additional info, I've tried installing to it's own Big World Folder, tried in the core BG2 folder (C:Rpgs>BG2), I've tried installing with batches and w/o it, tried with disabled mod conflict warnings. Only noticable difference I can tell, aside from what install set I used, was that I was FINALLY able to download and install the NPC Portrait pack, and NPC Ajantis mod, which had broken download links when MegaMod Plus succesfully installed.

Try something to make the patch-executable work.
Disable anti-virus, try to install outsider the program files, disable anti-something-software, ...
THINK! - It's not illegal.

The games are installed to C:RPG's, I've long ago disabled UAC for Vista, and I always make sure to disable my anti virus when I attempt this. I'm completely stumped as to why it won't install the TotalHappinessPlus setup.

EDIT: Well I figured it out, and the solution is laughable. Me disabling my antivirus like suggested WAS the cause of it not working. I went on a limb and tried installing it with anti virus on, and BAM, it continues from the stalled installation. Crazy.

EDIT 2: Spoke too soon, it stalled out at Creature Offset Checker, and was stuck on the same piece of scripting.

I'm at wits end, I tried once more, this time I turned off PCA, and I even renamed my BG2 folder to BGII - SoA, on the off chance it was being anal retentive. Stalled out. I'm now all out of options.

Edit: I confirmed the problem isn't with the Total Happiness Plus setup, as I tried Total Happiness and Minium, and they both stall at the same exact spot, with MK's Text patch. What really pisses me off about this, is that NOTHING new has happened since I last installed it succesfully. I haven't installed new games/programs, haven't updated my anti virus, operating system, or tweaked how the OS worked. It simply quit working for no obvious reason.

Here's a bizarre update. I tried to install the mod, yet again, and this time it got past that single random line, and once again stalled at creature offset checker. Why did it seemingly stall though? I closed my browser. I opened it back up, paused and upaused the game, and now it's installing. What in the world is going on, with it only seeming to work with a browser open AND antivirus on.

WHAT, is the game "being played" as you try to install modifications to it ? :o You need to close it...

Apologies, meant the BWS installer, not the game. But I finally got it to install, by keeping Firefox open. It would stall if I closed it, which I confirmed 3 times. Most bizarre thing I've ever seen with an installer.

Firewall issue? dabus would know best though :P

What firewall are you using? (if something other than the default windows one) And have you tinkered with its settings?

Using the default windows firewall, but it was disabled, along with Malwarebytes, and Avast. But, funnily enough, it would ONLY install with Avast ON. I have no idea how to explain this bizarre as f*** situation of it only installing with a browser open.

Serves me right for not reading every post in the thread :P If it stalled at the Offset Checker, you might wanna wait it out :D

It builds a file first containing a list of files it's gonna check and this part doesn't log much in the console window ^_^ Like Beleg33 said, it might appear stuck for anything between 10-30 mins :)

Also, howdy fellow Avast user! :D

I noticed it took a bit to install, but it hung there for an hour until I opened Firefox back up, (it was an experiment for when I watched Supernatural.) Howdy, Avast Brother.

The Offset checker runs find.exe. As long as that's running, nothing is done.
That creates the file creature.list. Some people reported that it did search outside of the path -- which will take a lot of time.
After that, weidu.exe goes through the list and looks for fixes.

So I'd look into the BiG World Fixpack\_utils - folder, check if find looks in the correct directory and check if find.exe or weidu.exe are still running with the taskmanager.
THINK! - It's not illegal.
