I was just wondering if after BG:EE and BG2:EE are released by Overhaul if you all intend to update BGT to work with the both of those.

Well, since we don't know if Ascension64 has time, we cannot say for sure...
But I would bet that there will also be a BGT-version that's made out of BG:EE and BG2:ToB, at some point, and that's worth the effort as it will give knowledge to the community of converting files between BG:EE & BGII.

Well, the devs have to finish BG:EE first, then they have to finish BG2:EE... then I'll think about it.

Well that goes without saying of course. This is one of the few mods that would definitely make me purchase both Enhanced Editions when their released.

I'm just saying of course, its not the only reason I would buy the Enhanced Editions. There is the promise of DLC down the road from Overhaul, which is a big factor in my decision more so than this mods compatibility.

Why would DLCs make you buy a game?
THINK! - It's not illegal.

... than this mods compatibility.

You do know that almost every mod, or more likely exactly every mod needs to be altered to count the BG*EE editions. Which will make the whole BWS a whole new lot of mess.

Because I already have BG1 and BG2. So why pay for a game that I already have, again? Tweaks, and Bug Fixes are nice. But a lot of those have been in the community for years. So for me the question is why buy the game again.

Its the promise of DLC that has me enticed. New missions, New NPCs. Maybe even New Areas. Be nice if they would add areas not seen in BG1 or BG2 such as Calimshan or Cormyr or any other areas, not already seen, from Forgotten Realms.

I'm willing to buy the game to support them as they development new content.

Yes I am aware. Some will be updated, a lot won't be. Still it will be a shame to loose a lot of hard work over the years for those that won't be. And I am also aware it will take time also.

Um, I don't really know, but how many DLCs are usually produced for a game?
I'd guess 5-10, and if they are, I'd say this does not really make up if you had to restart your game.
Beamdog also has to survive that long.

And I can grab new games for the price of 1-3 DLCs -- good games with the urge to play them multiple times, rather than playing for the Nth round and get 2 or 3 hours new content somewhere in the long run to the end of the game.

And I really don't give what will be in the end of 2013 or whatever when they think that the release of BG2EE may occur. And if they do and A64 creates a new version and all, I don't really think that the BWS itself would have so many new things to check. I mean, check the file-version, know that it's EE, do a copy or not and maybe get different files or sort some mods out... doesn't scare me as much. I don't have to mod content. :D
