Hi,

I got some errors during my megamod installation.
I thought I hadn't had any errors, but looking second time at the log file, I get these 3 errors after the BWP (v11.1.4) install process.
The installation finished with everything installed but could someone tell me what these errors are? And what damage do they do since I already started a game :)

Thank you.

#1 ... WTH with using custom IDS entries but not appending the IDS file... It's too late now sadly

#2 is a known issue. Find more about it here.

#3 looks like a windows protection-shit interfering? I don't know, the setup-nscportraits.debug could help.

Well, erhm, the history of that is that the RoT overwrote the .ids files, as then the files couldn't be patched, or it was pretty hard then. And if you note the .ids entry is actually "replaced" by the G3Fixpack with different one that actually covers more than the current... :P
So the explanation is, the mod is way too old for this ... :D And the BWP fixpack needs and adjustment to add the entry in to the IDS fixes it already has.

The G3 Fixpack IDS extensions are made only through "Super happy modder pack" or whatever, the only thing added to state.ids through core fixes is STATE_REALLY_DEAD. In my current install, the inclusion of CD_STATE_NOTVALID wasn't until BGQE.

There are "fully appended" IDS files in BiG World Fixpack\_IDS Files Backup\ but they aren't copied to override by BWFixpack or BWS install. It says to put them in manually, I think it should always add them since mods appending (should) use BUT_ONLY_IF_IT_CHANGES

hehe, you lost me guys :)

What should I do about the IDS file problem (ERROR 1), if I would reinstall the whole megamod?

Is it a serious problem? will I crash miserably to the desktop during the Reign of Terror quests?

Wait until the BiG World Fixpack is updated to include the append function in it... :P

But it doesn't actually matter much if any, the component was successfully installed, and the added content bypassed by the error is insignificant.

Such error cancels the installation of the mod so you won't have any RoT content in your game. Can you confirm the mod/component was installed anyway? Can you post the content of the WeiDU.log file in
Spoiler
please?

If you were to reinstall you could grab the STATE.IDS file from BiG World Fixpack\_IDS Files Backup\ and copy it to your override folder before installing. Or wait for next BWFixpack as Jarno said.

Checking the content of that failed extend_bottom tells me that if the mod was installed succesfully anyway without it, it will break a lot of quests (and well... a talking weapon)

Ok, I did two things :

ERROR 1 --> I copied/paste the file STATE.IDS from Big World Fixpack\_IDS Files Backup\ to the override folder.
ERROR 2 --> I replaced the file t-pstanims.tpa from infinityanimations\lib by the new patched one.

...and I relaunched the beast (manual install). We'll see.

It sounds like live debugging with the Bioware development team. :)

Finished!
146 mods, not a big deal :)

So.....ERROR 1 has gone. Hasta la vista. Reign of Terror has installed without any errors.

But ERROR 2 is still there...but...the component has been installed anyway. I don't understand. Here's the log :

It is not "installed anyway", don't worry :) the component that comes right after it, is (in the log) named exactly the same, however it is a different component that also replaces 25% of the NPCs with other animations :)

About the issue in itself with infinity animations - it's odd. I myself used Lollorians fix a couple of days ago and it worked fine. The only thing I can suggest is to replace the file *after* the Big World Fixpack has done it's thing. That's what I did. Lollorian applied the fixes already to the file anyway so it's not necessary that the Big World Fixpack modifies it.

Simple way of doing this:
In the BWS, where you pick the components, right click TobEx and choose "pause before mod" or something like that. Now, the BWS will pause just after Big World Fixpack has already patched the files, and you just replace the file with Lollorians fixed one, and click resume in BWS and it starts installing. For me, this worked.

The problem is I'm on a manual install (running the Big World Install.bat)

I don't use the BWS. And I can't pause the install process.

What can I do?
wait for the new big world fixpack I suppose.

Thanks Casper, I didn't know that feature lol. I would watch the install and click pause when the fixpack is running (so it stops after it is completed) and apply hotfixes ^^

Besides, it's a minor bug, isn't it?

Some new animations will be missing. :)

Factor X, you can edit the install.bat and add a pause anywhere, in your case it would be fine to put it just before IA (which is at line 3380). When it pauses, apply the hotfix and resume installation.

TBH I don't really like these PST animations, they don't fit well with the rest.

Oh thank you. I'll do that. What's the command? (just pause?)

It's true the animations can look weird sometimes.
I installed the new Bear_Werebear_D2 animation, and when I met one, I realized the bear was running like Usain Bolt!!!
Impossible to escape when it spotted me.

And I thought it was kind of realistic. If you have a real bear chasing on you in the woods, there's no chance you can escape it....I suppose.
Bears can run very fast in fact :)

The whole game just feels so realistic. (146 mods + SCS + SCSII). The IA is really top notch.

About that compiling error in RoT... Are you using the latest version? I can't find that line in bbaldur.baf from RoT v2.1

latest version.
RoF 2.1 and install batch 11.1.4

Copying the STATE.IDS from the fixpack to the override folder, as you suggested, fixed the problem.

The think is that the problem shouldn't have been there in the first place. That line doesn't exist in that specified file.
