Hello ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the house of god! (Imitating House, just being sort of excited)
It's that time of year when I reinstall old classics. It's been a while since I last played BG, but it was with Trilogy and it worked fine.
Now, what I'm wondering and where I need your help is: what would you suggest to install beside Trilogy? I want something if not radical, then at least big; loads of new items and stuff. (By radical, I meant an overhaul or something.)
Whatever makes the game bigger, different, better - pick two.
Cheers and thanks in advance.
Looking for a suggestion.

It really is a matter of taste and you're not giving much indications.
I (will) play BGT with a lot of modifications.
You'll want ToBEx to be installed just after the official patch and just before Gibberlings3's BG2 Fixpack.
I use, among other, Spell Revisions, Item Revisions, BG1 and BG2 Unfinished Business, aTwekas, Refinements' class-based HLAs and selected components from SCS and SCS II (AI enhancing mods), from BG2 Tweaks and BGT Tweaks. Plus my own two mods.

I highly recommend BGSpawn for random spawns, which is a lot of fun! Beyond that I find the Worldmap to be a necessity (it offers a nice large map replacement), there also is a widescreen addon I highly recommend if you have a widescreen. You also should definitely use the BGT fixpack.
As far as contentual mods, you should really just read through a few. Check the Bodies is popular and well-rounded. Secrets of Bonehill, Shadows over Soubar, Tales of the Northern Swordcoast.

You could probably go with a BWP install using the revived BWS tool and picking either Minimum or Recommended setup. Check out the Mega Mod Help forum.
