Cameron Tofer said the forum is currently open to /r/FriendsOfBaldursGate members only. This is the reason why they're reviewing applications, I believe.

That's a lie, unless I accidentally registered a redditor's name. If that's so, sorry, dude!

A new portrait has been added to the main page's background.

Let me guess. The new class will be warlock.

Here's the portrait of the new "romantically challenged" NPC that will be in Bg1EE. He has been referred to as Uncle Franco Debono, possibly jokingly by Trent Oster in his tweets. Discuss.

Well, human obviously, if an apparently ugly one, as most humans are anyhow.

Guessing from the red clothing and tatoos... Could it perhaps be a new portrait for Edwin?

Huh, his clothing seems to Coranish to me. As if they have edited Coran's outfit. Can you see what I mean?
Are you really sure that's the portrait of the new NPC? It's somehow different to old NPC and I thought they would rather include something more BG1-like portrait.

Well, they haven't announced anything, neither on Twitter nor on the boards, so any speculation us fair game at this point.

I still say red robes + shaved head + tatto = Red Wizard of Thay, and since we already have Edwin, it'd be silly to add another.

Guessing is fun, though. I'll go with angry loner cleric.

If that isn't a Red Wizard, I'd be a bit miffed if Edwin didn't flip out and try to murder him for impersonating one if you have them together. Since... that's kind of the way Red Wizards react to that sort of thing. >_>

Though I think I see a weapon and what may be armour, so he may not be a wizard at all. A warlock or duskblade or something, though, quite possibly.

Edwin actually flipping off and murdering a dude would be pretty off-character, he's an internet tough guy.

He does flip out and try to kill Keldorn, so I wouldn't be so sure of that.

But yeah, asking the PC to do it for him would definitely be more his style. Not whining about it at all would be weird.

They're so wasting time with this. The game was DONE like twelve years ago, and now they're adding to it? After all these years, adding new content is just glorified fanfiction. Or, in best case, a DLC. I'm not sure I like the possibility of "forced" new content, anyway. With mods, you can at least choose which ones to install.

What an ugly portrait. Really who is going to get tattoos on their face like that?
Her lips were red, her looks were free
Her locks were as yellow as gold
Her skin was white as leprosy.
The Nightmare Life-in-Death was she,
Who thicks man's blood with cold.

Thayan men. Priests of Bane. Probably other groups have a thing for tattoos as well.

Mulhorandi do it too, though I think they're just foreheads. A priest/monk of Bane... well, their colours used to be red and black, which is close enough, so that's an interesting possibility as well, even if Bane is dead. It's not as if half of them even noticed.

Though going by colours, tattoos, baldness, etc., is probably giving them much too much credit. The old artists didn't care much about lore, so there's no real reason to assume the new ones will.
