You must extract and install BGT into your BG2 folder, not BG1

I dont understand.
BG1, TOSC, BG2 and ToB are installed in the same folder D:\BaldursGate.
Edited my post.

You can't do that. You must install one to, say, D:\BG1 and the other to D:\BG2.
Then install BGT inside D:\BG2, giving D:\BG1 as path to BG1 when prompted

Okay ... first .... this is my fifth attempt to install the BWP. I finally got it working ... sort of. It didn't install BGT though. When I try to install it after the fact I get this error ....

ERROR locating resource for 'COPY'
Resource [dynaj.dlg] not found in KEY file:
[./chitin.key]
Stopping installation because of error.
Stopping installation because of error.

What does this mean and how can I fix it?
Please help.
Oh and thanks

for your help the other day.

Please post your whole setup-bgt.debug file.
Are you using BG1:ToSC and BG2:ToB both installed with complete installation and updated to the latest official patch?

Okay so I've been to install BGT for close to a month now on my windows xp laptop. I've lost count of the attempts, having started with BWP and trying for a mega install and finally giving up the mega mods and just trying for bgt with several smaller mods all from the BWP "official link list" as listed from the BWP readme. I finally found out that the links are listed in "approximately the order in which they should be installed". I actually got it to work, and then trashed it trying to change to remove stormunition, and haven't been able to get it to work again since. I keep getting the tis2bg2.exe has encountered an error window which after closing the install continues for a while and eventually repeats itself..... over and over..... until the install finally fails. I've started from scratch, run chkdsk, ccleaner, defrag, there is no disk in the drive, no images mounted, and I'm offline. I will post the debug files as soon as chkdsk finishes running again and I can access that computer.

In the meantime, anybody got any bright ideas?

Memnoch improved spanish translation of BGT 1.12
On BGT 1.14 I can see "Updated Castilian translation", does it mean there are included the translation improvements made by Memnoch?
How can I install BGT 1.14? don't know how to add my own setup-bgt.exe

Sorry for my bad english, and thank you, Cristian

You don't need to add your own setup-bgt.exe any more since a complete package can now be downloaded here. As I understand it there are some problems with installing the Castilian language at the moment as reported here.

Thank you for the help. I am wondering if someone is working to fix this problem, as I understand from the thread u have mentioned, there is a path code problem.

Since I've got no answer to my last post, I've installed a revised bgt 1.12 version by clandlan. When spanish version of bgt 1.14 will be fixed, how could I install it? Do I have to uninstall the old one? or can I patch the old version with the new one? Thank you again. Cristian

I would suggest installing BGT1.14 instead since you won't be able to upgrade. Just do as Lisandro suggests and update the tp2-file before the installation.

Hmm... I keep running into the same error whether or not I Biff the files. Every time I get to karoug.cre, I'm hitting an error. Looking in the override folder reveals that it's not there, so I'm going to dig around my Baldur's Gate stuff until I find it. For the record, I did try uninstalling BG1+TOSC and then reinstalling it after the first failed installation, but that did not seem to help.

At least, I'm hoping this is a simple "file not found" error - I'll edit this post in the event that I find it, though I can't see why the file would be missing after a complete un/reinstallation

In the meantime, I'm going to go ahead and post my current debug file, in case it's not just me.

EDIT: Foolish fool that I am, I thought that the 4-in-1 Boxset came pre-patched. Patching the files fixed the problem ^^;

Hey folks, I have exactly the same error message as described by Confused1 above, on a XP machine too. Even tried it with the new BGT version 1.15.

Game was installed from the english Atari 4 disc release.

Install order: BG1, TotSC, UK Patch, BG2, ToB, ToB international patch, BG2 Fixpack, BGT.

Hope people don't think this is a problem caused by installing BGT on an un patched vanilla BG, as it is not ;)

Any suggestions what causes this?

Can you post your debug file, and what is the numerical version of your Tales of the Sword Coast/Throne of Bhaal? I've got the same 4-DVD pack you have, and I had to manually go out and get ToSC 5512 from elsewhere since Atari didn't see fit to include that.

Can't get it running.

I installed Baldur's Gate The Original Saga with all options. Next was Baldur's Gate II The Collection with everything (SoA, ToB). After that, I ran the Trilogy file. After starting BGII, there is no BG button, unless it is hidden in a corner. If I had a working copy of BG Trilogy in Spanish, what would I have to do to put the English language package back into it?

There is no BG button, just new game button (BG1 start) or BG2 button that replaces tutorial button.

Have you tried installing the BGT GUI by running setup-gui.exe? You should also run setup-bgtmusic.exe if you haven't yet.
