Greetings fellow forumites and welcome to Dili's Playground!

Here, you'll be able to discuss your favorite (and not-so-favorite) games, seek advice, and get the latest news.

As part of SHS' staff, I'll be participating in an ongoing effort to clean up and maintain Dili's Playground and its subforums. The rules remain the same as in the forums, refrain from trolling, flaming, ranting, necroposting, and above all, play nice (aka don't be a jerk).

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to PM me. Happy posting!

Check out my DeviantArt account, as well as my scribbling on FanFiction.net

This part has been moved from the thread "Kickstarter - Dhalman (From one of the street fighter 2 devs)" in order to clarify and discuss the purpose of this forum.

Dhalman - Fight for the spice against the world's warriors!

Legendary former Capcom artist Satoru Yamashita brings you an all-new retro side-scrolling action and shop management game!

(link to a Kickstarter campaign)

You're obviously very excited about this project and would like to support it. That's great, but the purpose of this forum is to discuss games, not advertise Kickstarter campaigns. We'd be grateful if you could edit your post so it looks less like an advertisement and actually invites other members to the discussion about this game. Only then you could add the link as additional information, OK? :)

No problem, i wont post about Kickstarter again.

PS: how can this be advertising if i'm not making any money from it? Besides, other sites that discuss RPGs/talk about games have no problems talking about these kind of projects. But dont worry, it wont happen again.

PS 2: Since this cant be done it would be a GREAT idea if a sticky thread with this kind of info was posted in all sub-forums to warn ppl about this rule. This way they wont make the same mistake i did.

That's not what I meant; I think it's great that you want to inform others about a new game! However, the way you formulated your opening post may come across to some readers as lingo typically employed in automated, large-scale marketing.

This a discussion forum, so if you'd like to start a new thread here, try to follow the principles of an actual discussion, i.e. there should be at least some kind of personal input, such as your opinions, thoughts, or ideas. Then, as additional information, it's good to add any useful resources like links to project websites, gameplay videos, or even funding campaigns. That way other members feel invited to participate. News stories about games are also welcome because their descriptive format typically offers enough information to encourage a follow-up conversation.

Here are some examples of good opening posts:

http://www.shsforums...oject-eternity/

http://www.shsforums...d-and-its-free/

Do you see the difference between those and your post?

PS: how can this be advertising if i'm not making any money from it? Besides, other sites that discuss RPGs/talk about games have no problems talking about these kind of projects. But dont worry, it wont happen again.

Advertisement doesn't need to be for financial gain; I believe its definition is much broader.

That's a good point. I've moved our posts to the pinned introductory topic and I'll take a look at the other subforums.
