Having the same problem that person is having.
I tried switching mice but that did nothing except make me glad I kept my old one when I got this new system.
It might be my Dynex keyboard with its extra keys on the sides but I don't know.

Anyone got any advice?

Turns out its just locking it into what evers on the far left of the formation quick bar. Still annoying but less so now that I can get formations changed with some effort.

Also have a different problem that MIGHT be related, the spell quick bar and ability quick bar now becomes unchangable except for a little while after exiting a menu. I also can not access the list of usable abilities or spells without going into a menu then getting out making using anything NOT on a quick bar a choir.

Anyone know whats going on?

Hi wiiman.

I cannot help you with your problem. But what I do is keep everything as simple as possible on my game computer. I use Windows XP PRO SP2 (motherboard needs this), no updates except Internet Explorer 8 and daylight savings time fix, a simple keyboard, and a simple mouse. The game plays a lot better then when I install SP3 and all the updates. Still I do find some minor problems.

I previously used a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse which had all kinds of bells and whistles. The game did not play well with this equipment, even when the bells and whistles were turned off. I replaced it with a very basic Microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse and have had no problems since.

I also have a quick slot problem which is easy to get around. May be related to yours. With Viconia, at certain times, there will be double the number of available spells in the quick slots when she has none left to cast. For example, Viconia normally has 2 Cure Serious Wounds and 3 Cure Critical Wounds spells in the quick slots. If these have been used and the party gets interrupted upon resting, the number of spells will show up in the quick slots as 4 Cure Serious Wounds and 6 Cure Critical Wounds spells. Neither spell can be cast. The problem goes away when the party has an uninterrupted rest. Have you tried to rest your party when this happens?

Yours sounds unrelated, although I did learn something. The lock up of the formation bar and quickspell bar only happens if I try and change what formations are shown without expanding the list. Exiting out of BG2 then reopening it lets it say how I changed it so less annoying now I guess?
