Scoured the BWPLinkliste and it still lists the old NeJv602 links... Better get the new stuff from here
The stuff not being biffed seems to point to the Trimpack being funky but I've checked the BWPInstall.bat and it seems to call NeJ2Biffer (the stuff that the trimpack modifies) only if NeJv42 + v602 are found in the install Ah well... might as well download that 500MB behemoth now then yeah?

The new files are in the NEJ3 folder and the NEJ694 patch folder, but not installed. I will reinstall again if you can figure this one out.

Also wondering what if I eliminated the Trimpack from Leo's bat file, maybe it would install that way?

Taking a gander at how these files are supposed to be copied in Setup-NeJv691.tp2:Just guessing I looked at the area files with DLTCEP, and it looks like 18 out of 22 areas are missing. These areas are in the NEJ3 folder starting at TT6000 to TT9799.
BEGIN ~Additional content for Part II (beta)~ ... COPY ~NeJ3/are/TT6000.ARE~ ~override/TT6000.ARE~ ...... apparently that's component #7 - Additional content for Part II (beta) in NeJv691.exe
Anyway, looking at your WeiDU.log:
OMG where's component #7? Was gonna ask you to upload your BiG World Debug.txt (zip/rar/7zed please ) BUT figured I'd have a look at the install.bat before I asked~SETUP-NEJ2V691.TP2~ #0 #0 // Never Ending Journey Second Edition v6.91
~SETUP-NEJ2V691.TP2~ #0 #5 // Boo - Familiar of Minsc (This component is not available in BG1!)
~SETUP-NEJ2V691.TP2~ #0 #6 // "Firewalker" Shar-Teel (custom kit and continuous character)
~SETUP-NEJ2V691.TP2~ #0 #8 // Frostbite Animation (Turns a big wyvern into the frost wyvern. You may install and uninstall this component at any moment in the game.)
~SETUP-NEJ2V691.TP2~ #0 #10 // More Items from BG1 (a component from BGT tweaks - BGT required!)

~SETUP-NEJ2V691.TP2~ #0 #12 // Areas & Sounds (This component is required to play NeJ2!)
Line 1779=1780 in the BiG World Install.bat:
%IFX% Call %INST% NeJ2v691 "0 1 3 5 6 8 10 11 12" :: component 7 causes some incompatibilities unsolved yet
WELL THERE'S YOUR PROBLEM
If not installing #7 causes crashes, maybe these 'unsolved incompatibilities' should be found, reported and fixed yeah? Especially since NeJ is still in the Expert install so picking the lesser evil might be better

I wonder what the incompatibilities are, do they stop following mods from installing or cause gameplay and content issues.
This is a stable build so far and the installpack 11.1 is fine (except for that NEJ item mentioned). If there is no compatiblity for the time being I'll just keep playing. If its something minor then it might be worth waiting to reinstall when it is sorted out. Maybe our BWP friends know the answer.
Thanks for checking it out Lollorian.

That's why 'Game Over Only on Party Dead' didn't install on my 4 attempts? Good to know.
Also on a tactic install, it doesn't install the 'The MTS Crappack' components required to solve compatibility issues with 'D0QuestPack' and 'Kelsey'.

You can keep #0 as first number in the list, because that will be (in future versions) the QUICK_MENU, and will help in case of reinstallation.
So, the list (also compatible with projects for the future version) should become "0 5 11 [keep all components >= 100 as they are already]".
You can do the same for NTotSC (the new list should be "0 5 11 20"); that will be compatible both with the current version and my future version, currently WIP (force-installing components which don't exist yet is never an issue).
Also, I have suggested to pass the BG1 path to BGT using the arguments instead of redirecting input (which is unreliable and depends on the way the game was installed); please contact me for that (I know how the BGT installer works; I'm not expert with batch files, though)

It has been an amazing ride so far, and it would not be possible without your help. Over 100 people voted in the last party composition vote that we finished yesterday, and the thread is 94 pages long, which is approximately 3700 individual posts. I have been doing it for 7 months now using BWP 10.2.1. It is the greatest gaming experience that I've had to date in my life, and I'm only at the Cloakwood so far!
I was thinking that maybe when I get to BG2 (maybe 8-10 months from now?) I'll upgrade my installation to whatever the latest version of the BiG World Project is. Also, a couple of posters in the thread have asked me if I would incorporate mods that they make into the Let's Play. I told them it might be possible if they were to somehow get those mods into the BWP before I got to BG2. I don't know if you're ever going to add new mods, I know it's a lot of work, but maybe it can all work out.
Is there anything that I can do to help out with this somehow? Running the Let's Play does take up a lot of time, but it also is vital for me to have a good BWP to use in order to play it at all. So if there's anything I can do to help, let me know.

I pre-installed the games to keep them clean on one hard drive. Copied the entire contents of BG1 to the BWP directory on the other harddrive. Used EasyTutu's installer to clone my BG2 game into the BWP directory. What the clone tool does is transfers the needed files and points to the bif's etc in the original location.
from baldur.ini:
do note that I can manually install all the mods I want and there be no problems running the game. It's the installer that is failing to check for the true location.
and how do I exit the installer? can I just X out ctrl-break or something? Or do i need to leave it up and running till I 'resolve' this by doing something unneeded like copying files?

Check for the text that's displayed
Look for the Installpack\YOURLANG\strings.txt
Get the number at the beginning of the line the string is in
Search BiG World Install.bat for that number,
That leads you to the block around 400.
Now then edit the file to your liking.
Like changing %GOG% GOTO :TOOLCHCK to GOTO :TOOLCHCK.
Copying that file to the location would be easier than asking and editing the batch if you ask me.
Oh, and closing the cmd will close the interpreter of the batch-file which will result in nothing.
You can do that anytime. I wouldn't do it after the "now the installation starts" message though, since you cannot resume the install (without editing the batch-file).

However, if there were a way for it to actually READ the locations from the baldur.ini file and use those instead... Seems more logical and allow for more freedom. As is I've spent more time trying to get it setup to install than I would have doing it myself.
Editing the installer to add in additional mods and/or adjust components isn't fun either. Tho I hope I managed to do that right.
*********************
now more fun
It asks me between
Recommended Standard Tactical or eXpert.
I choose s for standard and it goes on and tells me that the expert mods will install all mods and wants me to decide which ones I want to not include. Doesn't make sense as I didn't choose x for eXpert.
anywho I told it to keep all as I've already put in only those mods I want...
*********************
there should be some sort of pause in the lists of mods available and not available. the list of mods not available was so great that I couldn't scroll upwards to see it all, else dump it to a txt file and launch that for the player to read.

*crosses fingers & hopes it installs*

I also doubt that the copy would hurt you since it's just a check if the file exists since someone claimed that the files where missing and some mods installs didn't work because of that.
If you like, you could use findstr, a for loop some other batch-functions and so on to determine the locations that the install may be in.
But as said, guys with multiple installs seem to be seldom and if that was the last update on the BWP, puzzeling to make it work isn't worth it.
Also note that batch/cmd is a klutz (if you ask me). It does not support some characters in variables if you want to work with them and you'll shoot yourself in the foot if the Alias-section contains some of those special characters because the script will just go "kaboom".

Hope I don't end up with German language... the guide said to include the German textpack and the English textpack was only needed if a certain mod was being used. not using that mod and I'm saying no to anything I can't read. LOL

If you don't want that, leave the textpack out. The English one is for Raziel, which might not one of the popular mods.
Of course you can bypass options... but you'd have to rewrite the batch a bit an Leonardo does not want to distribute a changed installpack.
So I'd rather suggest to not do that.
Uhm, I did mention that the BWS beta likely does what you'd like the batch to do, did I?

Not explicitly stated in any post that I can see. I can check it out tho the last time I tried it, it wanted me to rename my directories.Uhm, I did mention that the BWS beta likely does what you'd like the batch to do, did I?
At any rate the installer fails for the nogameover mod. its set to install component 10 when in fact the mod has it designated at 100
My only other error was that when I'd transferred mod content over I missed the bg1npc.tp2 and it wasn't installed cause the fixpack couldn't patch it even tho the installer gave a pause for me to find the file and it try running it again.
see this threadEh? Why would you use the German textpack if you don't want to? It will just patch German language into the mods.
The link goes straight to the GERMAN file. Ergo it's assumed that that is required. After all it is a NEWBIE guide.Download the following (Mandatory)
