Greetings

I decided to get back to the games after some time but unfortunately i learned that the Big world setup has been discontinued and that the BigInstall has kinda taken its place.

After a few days trying to install them and getting nowere, i decided to ask in the forums for some assistance. So here are my questions :

1. From the mods i downloaded (I got all the recomended mods, stayed away from standard and expert, expect the ascension which adds more difficult oponents in TOB) they come in two kinds .zips and selfinstallers. What i did is unzip all the contents in a separate folder and with the self installers i told them to install in the same folder (i got an error message that no dialog.talk present), then i moved all contents to the SOA folder. I iniated the install.bat file but i got too many errors from the mods. Is this the correct procedure?

2. When i iniated the install.bat i had problems with BG1 patch loop (I Bought the GOG versions for easier installs) so i searched for my disks and did the regular install, but then i couldnt choose the recomended setup, whatever i tried the program was closing , so i went with the standard but in that install 50% of the mods werent installing. Should i use another version that v11?

3. I decided to go with a complete manual install, installing one mod after the other, and i am going to follow this guide http://www.shsforums...compatibility/.

Well thats it , anything else i should know before i start ? I know this is going to take me a few hours so i wanted to be sure before i spend that kinda of time and then find out it could be solved by reverting to a previous version of install.bat :)

Thank you for your help guys

I had some problems with installations until I followed the suggestions in the BWP PDF document. The information is excellent as it not only tells yoou the mods that conflict with each other, but also tells you which components conflict. BiG World Install.bat also takes care of some of the conflicts.

What you also need to do is match the mod versions to BiG World Install.bat version (and related BiG World files) and to the WeiDU version you are using.

Some mods do not extract well for mega-mod games. Ensure you get the setup and tp2 files into your game. For a few mods, you have to open the extracted folders.

Well 3 hours down the drain again :) I read the documens again and it seems some exe file you can open with .rar so i found my answer on that. Also this time i stayed in front of my computer screen and i was checking to see what was the first mod that didnt install which was the BGT113-Install file (the trilogy) which was really weird so i stoped the install.bat , installed teh trilogy mod manual (installed succesfully) and then re iniated the install.bat file.

Unfortunately it didnt go well as i started getting lots of errors again.

In addition i thought the recomended mods didnt have problem installing with the Big world Trilogy, i will check teh conflicts page but it seems its going to take lots of time, so i am probably going to try again on the weekend :P

Furthermore teh big world trilogy has two files in the page were all the mods are, one is version 13 which is recognised by the install.bat file and teh other is v14 which is not recognised :) Oh well i will manage to install it no matter what :P

Also thank you for the suggesion mate i will follow it .

Use BGT1.14 It should install fine. It seems to automatically detect the path to BG1 files so you have 2 solutions to fix this easily :
- When the installation really starts after the final check a file called BWP_BGT_input.txt should be created in your BG2 folder. Open it, it should contain a single line with the BG1 files path; delete it all and replace the text with
Y
N
Save and quit.

OR

- Edit the install.bat and after the line starting with :
Call %INST% BGT etc...

Add this :
pause
Setup-bgt.exe
pause

The install will pause after failing to install BGT because the input didn't match the prompts. It will ask you to press a key to resume and then start setup-bgt.exe as if done manually, say yes when it asks if the path is correct and no to compress/biff files. Another pause and then it resumes the automated install.
