Yep, so far journal and portrait size seem to be the main things. I'll be working with a few others to sort out a good system for journals post-release.

That's not a good version. The Steam download is X patches behind the Beamdog one - blame Atari for that as Steam is their distribution channel and Beamdog have no control over whether Atari issue patches through Steam or not. It's a big gripe on Steam and is doing nothing for the reputation of BG, full stop.

Out of curiosity, define 'pretty bad'?

I don't care that it lags behind, because right now I'm not able to buy it otherwise. Also, seeing how things go, it's probably gonna be pulled from Steam so I'm just securing my lifelong ownership.

Well, for starters, it's not the ~*!~enhanced edition from my dreams~!*~

Everything ever is subjective. Also I don't really like BG1

I disagree!  For example, "I am a SHS staff member" or "I live on the planet Earth" is fact.  Nothing subjective about that.  ;)

I was a late comer to BG1 and played BG2 first, so I'll admit that I too have a subjective view on the matter and prefer BG2 to BG1:)

"I live on the planet Earth"

What if you're actually a space alien dreaming of living on planet Earth?

What if we all are?

"There is no spoon..." :P

"Ok, I've just about had my FILL of riddle asking, quest assigning, insult throwing, pun hurling, hostage taking, iron mongering, smart-arsed fools, freaks, and felons that continually test my will, mettle, strength, intelligence, and most of all, patience! If you've got a straight answer ANYWHERE in that bent little head of yours, I want to hear it pretty damn quick or I'm going to take a large blunt object roughly the size of Elminster AND his hat, and stuff it lengthwise into a crevice of your being so seldom seen that even the denizens of the nine hells themselves wouldn't touch it with a twenty-foot rusty halberd! Have I MADE myself perfectly CLEAR?!"

No surprise there. It's still on Steam though - I wonder why that is? I'm sure I have no real idea /sarkygit.

I don't know either, Steam is often the first to pull the games. For example, NWN2.

e: I got beaten in a gaming thread on a mostly dead forum, there's no bigger shame

Dead forum?  You wound me, Almateria!  I post news stories every other day, at the very least!

While I still haven't bought the EE, it's good to see that Atari didn't destroy everything this time.

I'm still not sure whether I should be happy about this. More BG-related things should be cool, but it means BG2EE conversion for all the mods, unless Weidu does that automatically. Also, everyone is sickeningly happy, which is definitely a big minus.

As long as modders don't abandon the original releases support-wise for new mod versions, I'm good. For my part, I don't really have any idea if I'll buy the EE or not, so it's the vanilla version for me, at least for the time being.

BG:EE was not worthy of a release, in my opinion. The original release with patches and mods is more than enough.

What. 4 new npc's in BG2:EE, and the new pits challenge. That is just a joke.
