I think Cuv's(and your team's, naturally!) work on BG2:Redux is much more of a challenge and a change, though. BG:EE does some good things - offers a quick save without a loading screen, adds a "total stats" field, a new all-voiced NPC or three. But on the whole, I understand phordicus's point of view and I believe it should be heard together with the others - people spend money, after all. For me, EasyTutu+Widescreen mod provide more "space" for the game on my screen, and EasyTutu in general remains a better option for my private games, since BG:EE adds no new voicing/new textures/new banters(new NPCs like the monk guy have very little content, from what I've seen in my tests). And lots of (unnecessary?) work for modders and for Weidu maintainers - and who knows how much work will be added to this when BG2:EE comes out?
It's a good thing it attracts new players. It's a good thing we have a choice. I believe, though, that an Enhanced Edition would be really Enhanced if it meant something like full voicing, great new original textures and a modern engine(Frostbite or whatever have they).
Well, maybe in twenty years?
