BWPv11 is ready to release for about two weeks. Unfortunatelly, I am not able to do any updates for the time being. Don't ask me for a preview. I will not answer. Please be patient. I will update soon when uploads are working again.

Beside the usual update to the most recent mod versions and a few additional mods, both of the most wanted mods for years are now included. Also the install.bat is much improved. Not all is implemented that I planned to do, however, I don't want to work any longer on BWP. Keep in mind that for this reason some mods are not tested enough.

This version was the most complicated thing I ever did before. Countless problems happened that you cannot even imagine. TheBigg solved a technical limitation within WeiDU without that the full installation would not be possible. In the PDF I have implemented all the corrections that you had suggested.

I also tried to install the Subrace mod. However, in the current state it is not usable in a megamod, at least not together with the big BG2 mods that add intros to the game. The reason is, that the option for changing the race only appears after a few moments of gamplay. For example during the fight with Sarevog suddenly the dialog from Subrace appears and then the intro repeats in and endless loop.

As I started BWP five years ago it was derided as a pipe dream. But soon in a teamwork with Taimon, Leomar, Dabus and White Agnus and with the help of many friends it grew up to its recent popularity. But time changes and now I am alone again. Taimon, Leomar and White Agnus are no longer active at all and Dabus had abandoned his Setup program. Without their help it is more pain than fun for me. Players complain why there is no update, modders complain why they are not informed about fixes and some copycats adorn themselves with borrowed plumes.
Also a few modders refuse to support BWP at all. They don't care about the players and insist on their own NSIS setup program instead of using the zip or even better 7z format that makes it impossible to extract the mods automatically. In fact, I have never released an easy to use setup because I cannot handle their damned installer.

Since Leomar is no longer on board things drift apart. I am missing the idea of pulling together and I cannot develop, organize and coordinate as a single person. Also I don't want to spend all my free time in this project. So I decided to take time out. Let's see how things will take its course. After all there is an excellent support here at SHS. Many commercial support teams can take a leaf out of their book!

Have fun!

Thank so so much for your hard work Leonardo . It was BWP that introduced me to the world of BG mods. I'm really sad that it all comes to the end :crying: ...but does it really ??? Maybe some people can carry on that project, I'm not a modder and I don't know how much contribution could I possibly be, but I'm more than willing to help in whatever way I can. This project simply just can not die.
Once again thank you Leonardo for all your hard work, Im going to October fest this year so if I'll meet you there I'm gonna buy you huge beer...or even a couple 8)

best of luck
I wanted infravison like the elves...But 'tis more than just taking their eyes

Thanks for all the hard work that you and the others have put into the project. This project was the first thing that introduced me to Baldur's Gate and it's absolutly massive modding scene. After lots of effort (and using the BWS 9.10), I managed to get it working, then I did it mutiple times with multiple mod installations until it works for me. The PDF file was a great reference for me, and it still is.

I am doing work on resurrecting Subrace Mod and I probably will keep this in mind for a future release. I am also willing to help you with the BWP when I have time.
At this point, I'm not really doing much Baldur's Gate related. More focused on Skyrim modding and the Born of Legend tabletop roleplaying game. Don't expect much activity here.

I don't personally use the BWP, as i prefer to do the install of mods myself .... however, your PDF file is an installation bible for me. Go and enjoy PLAYING the game; you have deserved it.
i have a witty signature thought up, i just haven't posted it yet.

BWP v11 can now be found in the download manager, for those who haven't noticed. :)

New mods added to BWPv11 now included in linklist.
(except for new BGT compatible NEJ and TS, which require Kerzenburg admins to add a new category)

First of all, thank you very much for your work.
The installation guide is a really vital tool for BG modding.

I have some concerns about the upgrade process of mods, such as the ones I'm working on - DSotSC (an update is almost ready) and NTotSC. That process will modify the installation process quite a lot; there will be some extra component to install (eg, choose whether to keep original items, or to nerf them), and some components might need to be DESIGNATED, also because I could need to use QUICK_MENU (which requires #0 to be empty). That would probably break the setup. Some changes like that could also be needed for the Big Picture. Can modders still have access to the installer, to keep it up to date with updates? It would really be a shame that this tool became soon useless for that reason.

I also want to ask about future updates of Russian (German, Spanish) Textpack and Russian PDF (typos etc).
