Ok, was wondering if theres any cheats using say shadowkeeper you always use.. I do and heres what I do:

1. I give everyone a base move of 5, I cant stand how slow every one moves without it.. the games too big to move slow. But I never run from a fight. Plus I think changing that only affects the speed they move at..

2. I change Imoen into a figter/thief. (I make it all leagal.. shes a tiefling) I recently made her a charming rouge til I found out that was a no-no.. :(

3. I give Viconia a cleric kit. either TDD's shar or Mystra (all made legal)

4. I make the druid/fighter chic from the friendly arms inn a single class wild mage (made all legal with shadowkeeper)

5. I use the cheat CLUAConsole:ExploreArea() to open maps when Im in a city (as I feel that unlike wild areas, the cities are well known enough and mapped enough you should not be blind)

Anyway them are the cheats I always use to make the game more fun..

another well.. not so much a cheat as a strategy.. I go ASAP to the lighthouse where the flesh golem is in the cave (In BGI) every time you rest he re-spawns, hes worth 2000 exp, so its a good way to build your BGI chrs up.

Also I sometimes start me and Imoen out with a +1 long sword (me) and Imoen with a +1 short sword and a +1 Short bow, so that I dont die always as I dont always make a bee line to the friendly arms inn.. (as I hate that place) I dont always do this, but sometimes I do.. I also give Imoen a quiver of plenty +1 as Im lazy and dont like to have to worry about always buying her dame arrows.. I give her the bag and forget about it.. Id give her a quiver of plenty with no bonus, if it existed, but +1 is the lowest that exists, I dont do that to cheat so much as Im lazy.. BTW if someone can make a quiver of plenty of normal arrows.. that would be cool :)

Anywhoo, thems the cheats I always use.. what about you guys/gals?

Um... My main character always starts out with strait 25 stats :whistling: (and people seem to think I'm a god? ), and I always start out with boots of speed for me and in BG2 an unlimited bag of holding (cause I can't stand leaving stuff behind). Mine really are blatant cheats lol.

Oh, and I always mod the game so that I can put 5 stars in the Scimitar (or Longsword in BG1) proficiency (I am Drizzt after all).

Opps forgot about the bag of holding, yeah I cheat and give myself that (actually the portable hole) as I hate a cluttered inventory. I also give my wizard a scroll case.. Yeah its a cheat, but I don't care, I like to be organized, also a gem bag so I can save all gems for money without fucking up my main inventory lol.

The only cheat I use on a regular basis is EnableCheatKeys, so that I can use ctrl+J to move around.

Oh my, what cheats *don't* I use? Mostly, I play when I'm testing something, so I don't usually sit through combat unless I'm testing the difficulty of an encounter.

My CHARNAME gets the Ctrl+8 treatment at chargen :P Hey I'm THE Bhaalspawn and not just any Bhaalspawn  And even after that... anything goes  (except Shadowkeeper, Ctrl+Q and SetCurrentXP())

4. I make the druid/fighter chic from the friendly arms inn a single class wild mage (made all legal with shadowkeeper)

Why not use L1NPC for that? No need to fiddle in SK...

5. I use the cheat CLUAConsole:ExploreArea() to open maps when Im in a city (as I feel that unlike wild areas, the cities are well known enough and mapped enough you should not be blind)

I'm not even sure how you can need that cheat? For TuTu, it's one of the "mandatory" components (Reveal City Maps) of BG2Tweaks, and for BGT it's installed by default. :)

another well.. not so much a cheat as a strategy.. I go ASAP to the lighthouse where the flesh golem is in the cave (In BGI) every time you rest he re-spawns, hes worth 2000 exp, so its a good way to build your BGI chrs up.

Not so much a strategy as an exploit ;)

I use ctrl+8 at the beginning, and then I'm done. Bring it, bandits (or more likely, xvarts and gibberlings)!

Resting in the wyvern cave is another good way to rack up the XP in BG1.

SetCurrentXP to adjust party members XP. I don't like the way XP is split, giving a larger share to characters according to their party position (1 to 6; 1 getting more than 6) especially at the beginning of BG1 in a megamod where bandits give 15 xp each.

Also use and abuse of CTRL+J to move around towns when I know there won't be any encounter on the way; reworking proficiencies through SK when I get a new NPC, adding kits for more flavour.

And one thing that frustrates me with BGT... adding known spells (SK again) if you wanna start directly from BG2 with an arcane spellcaster. I also remove some useless/redundant spells from divine spellbooks because on some installs you end up with 3 different AoE Curse spells, with different ranges, AoE, casting times, durations... one of them even hits party members!

Of course CTRL+SHIFT+8 on character creation but I don't put 18 everywhere, just no stat under 10. Because I don't want to roll for an hour to get 85~90 total.

That can't possibly make a difference of more than a few hundred XP (at the most) for the whole of BG1?

Use L1NPC, saves you the trouble of SK and guarantees you get all values correct. :)

By Nashkel there's about 500-600 xp difference between PC (if you leave it as Player1) and Player6, also considering the way NPC XP is -approximately- adjusted when they join (always below PC's, sometimes a few hundreds).

Also use and abuse of CTRL+J to move around towns when I know there won't be any encounter on the way; reworking proficiencies through SK when I get a new NPC, adding kits for more flavour.

Well it doesn't seem easy to make that through a BWP install, unless there's a way to pause the whole process to run lvl1npc on the side that I don't know? I tried adding a line ("Call %INSTQ% lvl1npc" or something like that after the base components; as I read in the BWP readme) but it didn't stop anything and batch just skipped it.

I usually in BG2 give my pc the xp he ended BG1 with.

In BG1 I give Jaheira/Khalid/Kivan a little xp boost to reflect their age.

I do this as well.
Doesn't make sense that seasoned adventurers start at level 1-2.
IIRC even Minsc starts as a level 3 ranger in vanilla BG1 while he is just starting whatever rashemen initiation?

You mean Jaheira? :P But yeah, like Dakk says, L1NPCs is much easier for that. I think a lot of her banter would be odd if she wasn't at least partly a druid.

I use the cheat CLUAConsole:ExploreArea() to open maps when Im in a city (as I feel that unlike wild areas, the cities are well known enough and mapped enough you should not be blind)

Pretty sure there is a real tweak (in BG2 Tweaks) for that.

another well.. not so much a cheat as a strategy.. I go ASAP to the lighthouse where the flesh golem is in the cave (In BGI) every time you rest he re-spawns, hes worth 2000 exp, so its a good way to build your BGI chrs up.

Good thinking, but I usually go there right away to get the +CON manual. I just sneak in and steal it - I don't bother with the golems until later. Though I always whack the ones at High Hedge. Very easy XP.

Also I sometimes start me and Imoen out with a +1 long sword (me) and Imoen with a +1 short sword and a +1 Short bow

You can get her a dagger +1 right away in Candlekeep, and plenty of arrows - no real need to cheat there.

Um... My main character always starts out with strait 25 stats :whistling: (and people seem to think I'm a god? ), and I always start out with boots of speed

Tsk-tsk. 25s in everything - not much motivation to find all the tomes, is there? I do give everyone boots of speed - I hate slogging around everywhere. Even with the boots it can be a bit slow.

Oh, and I always mod the game so that I can put 5 stars in the Scimitar (or Longsword in BG1) proficiency (I am Drizzt after all).

Pleh. So what happens when you meet the *real* Drizzt at Fisherman's Lake? Do you figure he's some sort of evil doppleganger or something?

Speaking of which, the first thing I do is almost always waste this guy right away. I get five goons (i.e. NPCs) and dismiss them at five different points around him so he can't move. Then I grab a few halberds (easily looted off the gnolls) and just wail away at him from behind one of them. Takes a while, so I sod off for a while - hopefully when I come back he's lying on the ground in a heap, at which point I collect his two overkill scimitars and godlike armour. Cheesy? Undoubtedly. Cheaty? Well the game lets you do it - no SK or anything involved there. Plus that loot is too good to pass up, and the Sword Coast is better off without munchkins :D. (Except I guess I've become the munchkin by donning all his gear but oh well...)

I put a few "convenience" items in (like lockpicks from Aurora) etc. so as I can get the sapphire in Candlekeep without being a halfling. But apart from that and the boots of speed, I try to play the game as intended (i.e. without cheats).

Ha! What's really funny is when I'm talking to the dopplegangers of Gorion and Elminster and I say something like "Who do you think I am, Drizzt?!" lol.

"Ok, I've just about had my FILL of riddle asking, quest assigning, insult throwing, pun hurling, hostage taking, iron mongering, smart-arsed fools, freaks, and felons that continually test my will, mettle, strength, intelligence, and most of all, patience! i always give my PC (a modded kensai kit) a +1 katana at the start of BG1 ... it's a family heirloom :shifty:

I always give my character a scroll case, gem bag, and a potion case ... why leave candlekeep without one?

i too bump up Jaheira and Khalid about double my xp for having more fighting experience
i have a witty signature thought up, i just haven't posted it yet.
