Good news, everyone!! We've got a package to - no, wait - I've fixed the BiG World Installer to fully support the GOG version - so say bye to the dreaded "BG1 Patch Check" infinite loop. Unpack the zip attached to your BGII directory after unpacking the BiG World Installpack first, and you can install right away!!!

(Note: this also includes a new Spanish translation line if you haven't got the textpack installed)

EDIT: Updated to skip BG1 completeness check if BG1 is GOG (the missing files are there, I checked with Near Infinity)

EDIT: Updates galore! See most recent post for info!

EDIT: Fix piping - thanks computerfan9000

At this point, I'm not really doing much Baldur's Gate related. More focused on Skyrim modding and the Born of Legend tabletop roleplaying game. Don't expect much activity here.

I did notice that the installpack has been updated, however, it does not include all of my fixes. I will update this version to work with the other installpack as well, and also fix some issues with German mods being installed in an English installation.

New version:

* Fully fixed checks!!
* Fix (very hackish) for BGT 1.13 and up
* Moved BuTcHerY componet 2 to after SCSII, as per readme
* Don't install item_rev componet 16 (conflicts with componet 15)

I noticed a SEVERE bug in the get_path batch file.  There is a space after the Y and N but before the arrows.  This will cause BGT 1.14 to fail to install.

Fixed. I was really more used to the Unix style of piping, in which you usually place a space between the text and the arrows. DOS batch editing is still relativly new to me, but I can learn it quite easilly with effort...

The installpack has been updated again - and with some of my fixes as well. And a complely diffrent notation for installing. *sigh* I do see some more of my fixes in there (skip TOB check if GOG, skip BG1 missing files check if that version), and suggestions (BuTcHerY moved after SCSII - the whole thing, and will not be installed if Revised Battles Firrikag is), etc...

However, my completly revised BG1 Patch Check is not used, which means that it will still have the "BG1 Patch Check" loop, and the installation still fails when installing BGT, due to the fact that it still tries to pass the directory name to the BGT setup (correct me if I'm wrong), and I said that Revised Battles Firrrikag should conflict with BuTcHerY, I meant something akin to the conflict checks used elsewhere. Also, why does a completly imcompatible Spell Revisions componet install even if Divine Remix is about to be?

Hi... are you maintaining an updated version of the BW installer? Could you please have a look at this? Could you somehow help with that?

Worked fine for me using BWP v11 and BGT 1.14, it just didn't biff files afterwards because the "BWP_BGT input.txt" didn't include the Y/N input, only path to BG1.

However, my completly revised BG1 Patch Check is not used

it's just not working with the CD and DVD version

biffing is not recommended for mega-modification installations

Howdy, for some reason I keep getting corrupted download, I have attempted with both Chrome and IE and get the same error,
It downloads and my computer tells me the file has kilobytes but comes up with
"Windows cannot open the folder"
"The compressed ZIP folder 'C:\Users blah blah' is invalid.

I'm using 7ZIP

Wow. So, like, wow. After looking at your answer in my other thread, I looked at the install.bat and I think it needs a really good proofreading in English. Hoo. Anyway, anyone can do with this info what they will. Some of it is a direct copy from the other thread. Also, my written German is pretty crap, but at least more understandable than not having a translation at all...

translation 1: "Choose your language" (completely missing)
