I love BWP and really appreciate what Leo does. But I don't install over 400 mods. I don't use the recommended or other settings. I always install as expert.
I pick my mods, I check the PDF for the choices. I have found editing the bat file to be easy. I just do a control F and find the mod and change or add some numbers based on my preference. I than let BWP run.
I used to install all my mods manually and when I first saw BWP I did not like it. I didn't like the pre-set choices and I didn't like the statement that an expert install always has bugs. However, I really appreciate the level of documentation in the PDF. I really appreciate the fix packs. I really appreciate I can play Jarls 0.61 mod in English even though the mod owner only released in German. I love the compatibility fixes. I love the compatibility documentation. I still install the mods manually, but I use the BWP to make it easier. An example: I decided to install about 5 mods manually. I forgot how much time it takes to manually make all those choices. After my installation, I realized I forgot TOBEX and 1PP. The second time I used the BWP in expert mod. I already have my tweaks to the BAT file saved The installation was so much easier and quicker.
I really appreciate the sequencing work that Leo has done. To me that is as much work as writing a mod (of course I have not published a mod). I would always want all mods listed because the mod I like might be different than the majority likes. However, I would support better preset settings, especially for the recommended list. I know this is off the original topic but wanted to respond because of what I feel is the unreasonable bashing of BWP. No one forces you to use BWP like no one forces you to use any mod (expect maybe G3 fixpack). But all this work is done for free. Modders (and I include Leo in this list) probably like and appreciate constructive criticism, but to me bashing any mod is in appropriate. I have recommend against installing TDD for newbees in any BWP install, but that does not mean I am bashing TDD. Also words can mean different things based on the context. Defending your word choice based on many possible meanings independent of the context it was first used, is a poor defense. Admitting a mistake is not a sign of weakness. So please don't bash BWP because I like it (as if anyone but me cares)
