Tortured Souls & BWP installs

However, I am wondering for the future - what mods is the latest version of Tortured Souls incompatible with?
In my regular installs of BG2, I only use a fraction of the mods that are in a full BWP install list. I am wondering if the mods that are incompatible with the latest Tortured Souls are ones that I use.
I would appreciate anyone who could enlighten me on this subject.

I am looking at trying the mega-mod Tortured Souls for the first time and will probably do so using an install concentrating on this mod and thus would be able to use the latest version instead of the older BP-compatible version.

Hi, as the BWP mega-mod install just runs the WeiDU install's for individual mods (provided the latest version of Tortured Souls is in WeiDU format) I don't see why you would have any issues.. unless of course they drastically change it.. not so much in content, but decided to add enough changes that it makes it a expert install mod.. which.. I would not think is the case as long as that mod has been around..
What is the version you want to install and its link that its different from the current Tortured Souls 6.10?
EDIT: Posted wrong mod, changed above post.. but doesnt change things..

I believe the latest version is v7.0.4 available at http://dragonshoard....et/download.php
The BWP information says not to use anything past v6.10, but I have seen messages that the author is no longer supporting this older version. I am wondering why the BWP information says not to use the newer versions.

Thats good info to know, I'll download that version and see how it works.. if you are referring to my guide, I would say never use a outdated version.. use that link in my sig, the same you posted, but, as I said above, I see no reason you cant use that new version in a BWP install.. at least to see.. especially as you just want to use BGII and that mod, I dont see that it will be a issue, but thanks for posting that new version.. Im sure that the members here will check it out and see if its 100% BWP compatible.. most likely I will do that but I think you will be fine.. but of course theres no guarantees in a mega mod install.. no matter how stable every mod is..
But I will be checking out that version.. just for my own guide reasons and to updated the members here responsible for the BWP install.. But I to be honest would say give it a shot.. Read my guide, make sure you follow the instuctions on making a backup.. that way you have nothing to lose.. and PLEASE report here on what happens, both in the install and game wise..
My advice, follow my guide, use your new version, you will most likely be ok.. Thanks for reporting that new version
If you follow what I said above.. post ANY issues you have here and I or members will help you in any way I (we) can.. as Im really interested in this huge updated version..
Not only would you be helping yourself, but you would be helping the community install that updated version, Try Tortured Souls v7.0.4 it will probably work.. Im downloading it now to check it out..

I don't actually use BWP except to determine the order for installing the mods I use. Like I said I probably use less than half the mods in BWP so I prefer to just install them manually one by one. I also don't worry about backups because I create a new copy of the game and then install current versions of mods each time I start a runthrough. I have been doing it this way for years now long before I had even heard of BWP. I find it much easier that trying to update mods using the same install again and again.

As far as I remember this old, somewhat stinking story, author never wanted TS to be used along with other large mods, and after some volunteers worked it around by making other mods compatible with TS, he emoraged and started to make further versions of TS intentionally incompatible with other mods (well except for NeJ from the same author). Why no-one picked up the gauntlet and tweaked final version of TS to be BW compatible I don't know for sure, but I perfectly understand this reluctance. The BWP information says not to use anything past v6.10, but I have seen messages that the author is no longer supporting this older version. I am wondering why the BWP information says not to use the newer versions.

Because there was never a "final version" of the TS...Why no-one picked up the gauntlet and tweaked final version of TS to be BW compatible I don't know for sure, but I perfectly understand this reluctance.
And it's not all as black and white what you said... but let's leave it at the past, as there's far too much for anyone to write a truthful history about any of that stuff... or anything else either.
The truth is that if you want to use the TS's latest version, you had best to use the instructions in BWP's PDF file... it has a special section for that. Something about NEJ, TS and the Baldurdash...

Actually the reason I am asking is because there is no special section for TS in the BWP's PDF file. There is for NEJ, but for TS it just says to not use the current version without any explanation.

But there was a suggestion mentioning that you can use the latest version of the TS with the NEJ if you use the modified BGT.tp2 and just NEJ, no other mods except the Baldurdash if I am correct...Actually the reason I am asking is because there is no special section for TS in the BWP's PDF file. The reasoning for one is that you need to reinstall the BGT's XP patch for one, as the TS overrides the BGMain.exe for one reason or another... there are a lot of other things.
