Hello.

So i just installed baldur's gate trilogy (WeiDU) for the first time, and i notice something strange in the character creation page.

Being it is the bg2 engine now, when you create your character, it's now the bg2 character creation page, so the weapon proficiency part allows you to pick weapons from bg2, such as katanas, even two weapon style (you can dual wield in bg1 now?). but bg1 used to have large sword / great sword categories. so are these seperated now into long sword / bastard sword / two handed? there aren't any katanas in bg1, but there is already a katana category, guess there are scimitars in TotSC, but what exactly should i pick at start, if i plan to import the same character into bg2?

it would be kinda stupid to buff your katana proficiencies for later use in bg2 and play the entire bg1 game without your used weapon proficiencies? i'm kinda confused here, don't know if there are any weapons imported in bg1 with WeiDU.

Thank you.

BGT does not add any items to the bg1 part of the game (nor to bg2, actually).
But there are other mods (such as BGTTweaks) which can add bg2 weapons to bg1, IIRC.
