EDIT: Solved. Patch 5512 can be safely applied to the Original Saga, as explained by Jarno in his reply here: http://www.shsforums...post__p__500544

I know this has probably been asked before, and I'm fairly sure I was one of those doing the asking at least twice, but Search is returning no results when I put in 'Patch 5512'. I have the 3-CD set for Baldur's Gate, which I'm fairly sure is the 'Original Saga', as it is called. Post-installation without patches, it's v5521. Without modifying the BiG World Install.bat, other than to change the three instances of C:\ to E:\ (my Windows XP drive), running the BiG World Install.bat returns a loop at the BG1-Patch-Check, saying I'm missing patch 5512. So...what am I missing? Installing 5512 would -downgrade- my version from 5521, and break things, wouldn't it? I thought BG 3-CD came pre-patched...

Unfortunately our search is broken at the moment, the best way to get results is to search for this in Google. :)

Oh! I didn't realize Search was broken, or I would have tried that to begin with. Thanks <3 First result in your link found me what I needed. I didn't recall that 5512 could indeed be put on top of 5521, thank you!

If you just need Baldur's Gate to install a Big World game, installing the 1.3.5512 patch is safe. If you want to play Baldur's Gate in its original form, it may not work since the game executable will probably not read the compressed files (cbf) used in the 3 CD version.

You can easily fake the presence of the 1.3.5512 patch by creating an empty file, called readme_patch.txt, in your Baldur's Gate directory. This is enough to lure Big World Installpack into thinking you have the patch (which is right).

Hmmm, I thought about that, to be sure, but I wasn't certain BiG World Project wouldn't sick-up at doing so later. Good to know, thanks!
