I think the point some people are missing, is that the 25 dex doesn't make Chloe too powerful game mechanics wise, just too powerful storywise. Her mother Akadi, the goddess of air and speed, can create an avatar with only 24 dex. 25 dex means that there can be no one more dexterous than Chloe, which has inklings of a Marry Sue type characterization.


But as I've said before, its Lucy's story, and Lucy's decision and it looks like Lucy has decided.

Lucy, just curious, why do you not want feedback about your mod? It would seem to me that if you went to all the trouble of making a mod, went through all of the hours to get it made and put it out, you'd want to make sure that you had the best product possible. Doesn't ignoring people's opinions about your mod invalidate the reason for releasing it publicly in the first place?

I have no problems with feedback. But just because a few people don't like something about the mod doesn't mean I'm going to go to all the trouble to fix it, assuming I could even figure out how. If the points raised were valid and convincing enough, I would fix it even if I had to ask for help in doing so.

That's fair, I guess, but it doesn't seem like this whole DEX 25 issue is one that has much to debate on it. I'm just curious, I don't mean to harass you, but what justification do you have for her dex being that insanely high, given the arguments made so far?

I actually have no problem with changing her dex. Actually, I want to lower both her dex and her wisdom. The problem is, I believe her weapons are hard-coded to only be equippable to someone with Chloe's stats... especially her dex. And I don't know how to change it. So, if I DID change her dex, she could no longer use her weapons. And that, my faithful players, is the problem.

Lucy, if you need those weapons to be edited/revised, I already did a few different versions. They all work fine (I corrected all the bugs in the files, and balanced the effects a bit in another version), and use 21 DEX as a requirement (the original blades were using 23). This way her DEX can be lowered to 22 for example.
So again, if you need a copy, I can edit those weapons and send them to you (once you provide me an e-mail address via PM).

Not at all. I wouldn't win anything if she would decide to modify stuff. If you would ever take a look at one of my previous posts, I was offering her some help with the weapons. Really, why are you meddling into something you obviously don't understand?

Hmm, I have yet to remember criticising stuff without offering at least one alternate solution... but I appologize if I've done so in the past, it wasn't my intent.

Hi there, Lucy, Maestro and all the guys who posted here ! I had an advice for you : when having such debates, you should specify very strictly its criterias. I have noticed someone harassing Chloe following the ADD rules, other who defend her from the point of view of the story, or the game's balance and so on. If you don't have only one set of criterias, you really can't reach a conclusion.
By the way, Maestro, what's your problem about stats above 22 ? They could ruin the balance only if you play at the easiest level. For the balance point of view, I don't see much difference between an Int of 20 and an INT of 25. And about them being godlike stats, here ADD is funny. I don't find them impressing at all : a 25 STR means a +4 THAC0 and +7 damage, so a level 30 Kensai with 18 STR could be more powerful than a god's avatar ; also, a creature with 25 STR could lift only 1600 lbs, not even a ton. Excuse me, but a pair of bulls is stronger. The same for a 25 DEX : speaking of balance, a kensai with Shield Amulet is stronger ; speaking of ADD logic, that means only a +3 AC bonus (more than a character with 18 DEX). If THAT is a godlike value, the gods of Toril are a bunch of suckers. (Maybe they have such low stats because physical abilities don't matter for gods, but that's a little bit too phylosophical ) Actually, I find 25 STR weak even for a dragon.

I only criticized that 25 DEX value because of aesthetical reasons. It sounds harsh to me that a single low level Kensai (be it a demigod, or not) can have the MAXIMUM value in any of the ability scores. Not to mention that Chloe's mother, Akadia seems to have a lower DEX value, which is most strange if you ask me.
