Gave up on using BiG World Install to create my mega-mod game. The only non-mod files I am using are BGT v1.12, WeiDU, and BiG World Fixpack v10.3.2. Same mods I have used before without problems.

This time Stone of Askavar and Item_Rev #0 [Item Revisions by Demivrgvas] fail to install.

BiG World Fixpack v10.3.2 fixes both mods. The fixes to SOA are only to the map. The fixes for [Item Revisions by Demivrgvas] are more complex.

The errors for SoA that were on the screen are:

Could Not Find ...\BGII - SoA\Override\harmon.wav
Could Not Find ...\BGII - SoA\Override\lute.wav
Could Not Find ...\BGII - SoA\Override\Tylam.wav
Could Not Find ...\BGII - SoA\Override\harald.wav
Could Not Find ...\BGII - SoA\Override\ars001.tis
Could Not Find ...\BGII - SoA\Override\ars002.tis
Could Not Find ...\BGII - SoA\Override\ars005.tis
Could Not Find ...\BGII - SoA\Override\ars006.tis
Could Not Find ...\BGII - SoA\Override\ars007.tis

I could not find the *.wav files in the ...BGII - SoA/SOA folder, but the *.tis files are there. There are *.ogg files that match the *.wav files in the ...BGII - SoA/SOA folder.

I am enclosing the Setup-Item_Rev.Debug file.

I will try an older version of BiG World Fixpack to see what happens.

Thanks for any help,

Tom

I tried installing SOA into a fresh BG game. I had to fiddle around a bit but I got it installed. To get it installed, I had to have my Tales of the Sword Coast in my CD drive.

So I think my solution is to have the CD in the CD drive when I install it into my BGT game. That will take a while to test since I am chasing down an install problem with my current BGT game.

In using BiG World Install.bat, I suggest inserting a "PAUSE" statement just before the code to install SOA and another "PAUSE" statement after the installation is complete. This will enable one to insert and remove the TotSC CD.

Look at the debug:
ERROR: No translation provided for @4079.

Which leads me to this.
There's this note about added translations. I kind of wonder if you need that hotfix...

You may just google for item_rev and 4079 for yourself... ;)

Edit: The line is in the latest fixpack (10.3.3).
Make sure you didn't patch the item_rev before/have it listed in the marker-file BWP_Fixpack.installed or it will fail.

Thanks dabus for your comments.

I am more confused than before about Item Revisions.

Demivgrvs (in your link) calls it v3 BETA.

Big World Fixpack in "BiG World Fixpack\item_rev\_copy\change-log.txt" calls it v3 BETA 1.5.

The BWP Mod files page (http://kerzenburg.ba....eu/bwpmods.php) previously called it v3, but now has it as v2.

The G3 download page has v2.

The latest I have is v2. I cannot find v3 anywhere. Does anyone know where to get v3 BETA?

My solution tonight is to use v2 and find an older version of BiG World Fixpack that has fixes for v2.

Problems like this can be resolved more easily if modders put the version number in the mod name, the compacted mod download file name, and the folder, exe file and tp2 file extracted to the game directory.

Any corrections should check that they have the correct mod version. This happens in some situations, but not all.

Also, mod name, file name, etc., should have a similarity to link them together. Not all do.

IRv3 Beta

Problems like this can be resolved more easily if modders put the version number in the mod name, the compacted mod download file name, and the folder, exe file and tp2 file extracted to the game directory.

That doesn't apply to the problem here now does it? ;) Problem here being - BWPLinkliste is out-of-date  (with quite a few things actually... not just IRv3) The BWPTools, Lester NPC (v0.8 is the last version out, dunno where a v0.9 is ), Touchstone NPC (404 page) to name a few

Hi Lollorian. Thanks for the link to the file.

I apparently did not convey my message correctly. I was referring to using corrections for a v3 mod when a v2 mod is installed. I like the BWPLinksite and use it often to get my mod files.

Another problem I am having (I do not expect to get help for this here) is my browser on my game computer is not working well. I had Internet Explorer 6 and it would not open G3 sites. I installed Internet Explorer 7 tonight. An improvement, but still has problems with many sites. For example, when I open your IRv3Beta link, IE 7 crashes trying to open a G3 site. This computer has Internet Explorer 8 and has no problems. Oh well, time to get another browser.

Back to SOA

Here is the error from the Command Prompt window.

Semantic error in TP2 code (first ext-north-link check failed)
ERROR: [worldmap.wmp] -> [override] Patching Failed (COPY) (failure("Semantic error in TP2 code (first ext-north-link check failed)"))

I do not know how to interpret this error message. Is it saying there is something changed it the Worldmap file? Perhaps by another mod?

The Debug file is attached.

The BWPTools => added some version numbers
Lester NPC (v0.8 is the last version out, dunno where a v0.9 is) => dunno, either. German translation was added there, still included in the German BWP-Textpack, so 0.8 does the deal.
Here's the diff if case you are interested.
Spoiler

Touchstone NPC (404 page) => So where is the new page? Seems like the old one was just shut down.

Touchstone NPC (404 page) => So where is the new page? Seems like the old one was just shut down.

When I was downloading all the mods a month or 2 back, I did get a hit on the site that the BWPLinkliste links to... but avast seemed to see it as malwate-affected  (the site I mean, subsequently I couldn't download the package even)

If someone has the latest updated package, would it be really wrong to mirror that (in a non-modified state) somewhere until a legit source comes up? Alternatively, just remove the link until something comes up

I could ask the same question about Lester though :P All evidence points to 0.8 being the last one, maybe there was a german translation included 0.9 but a link to that can't be googled  (probably something that happened in Leomar's () time, I remember he was updating quite a few mods with a german translate)

Name=Touchstone NPC (Touch-The-Moon)
Link=http://www.borderkingdoms.net/readme/Readme-Touchstone.html
Down=http://www.borderkingdoms.net/index.php?action=tpmod

If you google the name, you find links to the site, but it's not up.
