I'm currently on Chapter 2 of Baldur's Gate II, running around and doing quests. I've been fairly neutral on the romances so far but I'm reaching the point where Aerie gets into a fight with one of the other females over the PC's attention. It's the one where she wishes she could die and then, in my game, Nalia tells her to zip it and they demand an ultimatum from my character.
I don't care for the Aerie romance, having already gone down that path in a previous playthrough. If I choose to let Aerie continue talking to me (basically picking her over Nalia), does this effectively shut off other romances/potential romances? I haven't gotten Viconia yet and I'm more interested in how that plays out.
The only reason I hesitate at shutting Aerie down is that I'm intrigued about her relationship with Haer'dalis (saw hints of it in my last playthrough), although I got him rather late and he hasn't even bantered with her yet. If I should reject Aerie at this point, will I see anything unfold between her and the tiefling?
Also, does Aerie "reset" if you boot her from the party? Jaheira gave a hint about this when I kicked her out ("our relationship might not be the same") but Aerie says nothing out of the ordinary.

Late response, but in case you're still waiting:
1. No, it shouldn't shut off Viconia's romance until you actually commit to Aerie.
2. The Aerie/Haer'dalis romance will happen regardless, it just won't be quite as complicated if you're not also romancing Aerie.
3. Never done it (well, never played the Aerie romance in the first place), but I think you're allowed to kick Aerie and Vicky out once or twice before doing so shuts down the romance. With Jaheira, you can't do it at all. (At least, that's my understanding.)
