I am trying to download the Baldur's gate trilogy mod but it is not working for me. No matter what I type it keeps saying enter the full path to your baldur's gate installation directory. How do I tell what this is/what do I enter? this is the folder for baldur's gate C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate and this is the folder for the second one C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SoA please help
You have to type exactly the path to your BG1 installation directory.
In your case, at the prompt type: "C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate" (without the "") and the modification will continue its installation.

Enter the full path to your Baldur's Gate installation
then press Enter.
------------------------------------------------------
Checking C:/Program Files/Black Isle/Baldur's Gate
----------------------------------------------------------------
Invalid Baldur's Gate directory, or
incorrect Baldur's Gate installation.
It is safe to abort this installation by closing this window, or
pressing Ctrl+Break three times.
----------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------
Enter the full path to your Baldur's Gate installation
then press Enter.
----------------------------------------------
and like i said i do put in a backslash but its checks as a forward slash for some reason o.O

Or your problem is just... incorrect installation. What Operation system do you have ? If any new Windows... read this !incorrect Baldur's Gate installation.
That may actually be it. I have xp but idk if its xp3. Other mods were able to download, does that matter? I will try redownloading everything and see what happens.

when you install the game and the default location is shown, you can click inside the text box and type a new location. it does not need to exist as the installer will create it for you. so that if the default isAlso when I go to download baldurs gate the only option I have it program folders, how do I change that?
C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate\
you can change it to
C:\games\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate\
or whatever you wish really
If you have the 4 in 1 boxed DVD set, one disc is for BG, one disc for ToTSC, one disc for BG2 SOA, one disc for TOB. You would install BG1 with the first disc, but after you'd need to install ToTSC from the 2nd disc. It won't ask for it, you have to install each disc on it's own. You said download earlier which leads me to believe that you have the GoG version. I've never seen it and don't know how it works, but if it's on 4 discs like the 4 in 1 boxed dvd set it should still behave in the same manner.Another thing I was confused about is that it also does not ask me to use all 4 cds, I only use the first one for baldur's gate I is that normal?
This could also be a reason why BGT isn't installing, if you weren't installing ToTSC after installing BG1 then BGT wouldn't recognize your BG1 install as it requires ToTSC to be installed too. Also you have to make sure that you are properly patched to the correct game versions for BGT to recognize your game installs. See the modlist at pocketplane.net for links to the official patches if you don't already have them.

Is it a CD(~700MB's), or DVD(~2.5GB's) ?I meant to say only the first cd is used to install it, sorry heh.
If it's just a CD, then you should use the Custom install option with everything selected, not the minimal one that using just the first CD indicates. And if the computer reports that you might not have enough space in the hard drive, it's just internal erroneous space counter that can be bypassed if you have more than 2.5 GB's space in the hard drive.

Meaning exactly what ?Also should I download the fixpack and tweakpack before trying to mod with trilogy?
If you want to install the (G3)BGII Fixpack and the Tweak Packs, the install order needs to be this:
<clean games installed fully in two directories>
BGIIFixpack
BGT-WeiDU
Tweak Packs

tweaks is not necessary to play the game, but it has some nice options. For me the most important are the convenience tweaks such as increasing the amounts of stackable items. Thanks guys it finally worked and I appreciate it. Is the tweak pack neccessary/important? like what does it do?
