BGSpawn was somewhat interesting initially but the loot ended up being out of control (lvl 7-9 scroll drops and tons of healing potions/scrolls).

Those can be fixed with proper mods like the Aurora mod and others...

How about making BGSpawn the default then?

You mean include one mod (that differs significantly from vanilla BG1 behavior) that requires yet another mod to get correct loot?

The default BGT spawn system is mostly fine to my opinion. And if the default spawn system ought to be changed, the Tutu 6 spawn system should be used instead.

I am against including BGSpawn in BGT because it is still a developing mod and it will mean I will have to take part in maintaining it with mm75. mm75 already does a fantastic job maintaining it as a separate mod, and I think it is better that he keep 'ownership' of said mod. BGT was supposedly finalised ages ago and I don't plan on adding anything new.

I didn't mention the BGSpawn system because it's very different from the orginal BG. It drastically changes the creature types created and even introduces creatures from BG2. ;)


How about making BGSpawn the default then?

ell, because the mod is made and maintained by different modder than A64...

It was a rhetorical question.

It's saddening to see responses like these while all but one person of those who have read the thread won't speak out in support of a just cause..

There doesn't seem to be a general bug reporting thread in there, so I drop this little journal bug I found here:

If you kill Zhurlong (the pick pocketing halfling in Beregost's Burning Wizard) after you talk to him, the Zhurlongs Boots guest journal entry doesn't change. It just says in the lines of "didn't want to make as scene, maybe I get the money he stole back if I return his missing boots"

It's that way in BG1, too. It looks like they didn't expect that you would kill him.

Well, you can't expect to finish any quests if you decide to kill the quest-giver. I won't fail the quest, but let me know if the BG1->SoA transition doesn't remove that journal entry.

Heh, ok. I have ran across other persistent journal entries after that, I have two entries for the talking chicken still in there though I finished the quest. No biggie though, I'll report if they wont get removed when I get to BG2.

Found a bug so small that it's funny even report it, but what the hell :)

Spider's Bane sword is marked as a long sword in it's proficiency type, even though it's a two-handed sword.

In the quest The Priestess of Umberlee, the three fishermen Jebadoh, Sonner and Telmen turn hostile after getting the bowl for Tenya even if you get the bowl peacefully from them. They give the bowl and start walking out of there after the dialog, but are still turned hostile.

Not 100% sure is this a bug in BGT, so here's my weidu.log:

I think that happens in vanilla BG1 as well, so if it is a bug it is a bug in the original game and not from any mod.

On the second floor on Blade and Stars (South Eastern part of Baldur's Gate) is a party of 5 people, Karris, Zed, Leti, Mati and Alvo. The second I go to there, Karris turns hostile and attacks, the rest doesn't. If I try to talk to them after killing Karris, they all say I should talk to their boss, who either isn't there or the boss was Kerris.

A bug?

I am fairly sure Karris (who is indeed their boss) is not supposed turn hostile without you doing anything, so it does sound like a bug. However, that party of people are added by the BG1NPC mod, so I guess that is where you ought to report the bug.

I believe this is intended BG1 behaviour so will stay.

That proficiency thing is a BG1NPC bug surely? Weren't they who changed the proficiency of spider bane (and bad form it was, since it was the best goddamn short sword in BG).

It's more probably a leftover from BG1, since Spider's Bane isn't available in BG2. The proficiency was "large sword" which does not exist anymore and should be replaced with "two-handed sword".

I haven't changed my mind on the spawn issue, and I'm sure that I won't in the future, either. The EasyTutu spawn system isn't a mod; it's a core, integrated part of the conversion that I do not want to see bastardized into anyone else's work. I think you'd agree that any take on replacing the engine spawns it isn't just a "fix" per se; rather, it represents a considerable amount of new and personalized development. In my mind your request is akin to asking an author if they'd mind donating an entire chapter of their book for use in a different author's book on the same subject.

That said, I can certainly understand it if you'd prefer not to act as a middleman in terms of commenting on my feelings about this issue. I'd be happy to respond to whomever is asking if you'd give me a link to the relevant thread. Or you can just quote my reply and leave it at that.
