Since i've lost patience with the BWP and my current problem with stuttering/fps hits so bad it gives me a headache, my daughter and grand-daughter are going to go through it for the old man and try to understand it all and fix me up. . They haven't bothered to register but they're reading through a lot of the information here and they had 2 questions from the install faq and the different versions so i logged to ask for them.
1)What is meant by bags of holding, as 1 point references that too many may cause problems?(my girls don't play so i had to explain about those) but even i didn't know what is considered a "bag of holding". Does it include just the namesake item? or does it also include things like gem bags, scroll cases, unlimited ammo pouches, ammo cases, potion cases and even this mule npc(though he is limited to 100 items max).
2)Which version is normally recomended for the best stability vs most content. I had used the "standard" version.

Also a question from me but that will help my girls, as again i lose patience going through all the discussions on a thread while looking for a specific answer(modding to me is like sitting in a room full of rocket scientists...that's a compliment to you folks btw). When a new install program is done(10.2 is current atm?) Do you have to do a completely new, fresh installation of BWP?.

thanx for your patience with my impatience folks

1) As far as I know, "bags of holding" include all you say and bags of holding themselves (similar to gem bags but you can put in every kind of items). So you have to not take to much of them and limit their size (the latter is automatic if you use BWP tools such as install.bat).

2) standard is a good choice for stability, but "standard" doesn't mean "perfect"... some rare bugs depends on your particular choice (choose this NPC, do this before that...) and are particularly hard to discover... Moreover, each BWP version comes with new versions of mods that can lead to new bugs...

If you want install BWP 10.2 you have to start from a fresh BG1 and BG2 installation (with the last patch for each one) not from a previous BWP release !

All items that expand your inventory may be responsible for frame-drops because those item-slots seem to be kind of scanned constantly. So more slots, more work for the game-engine, higher possibility of a frame-drop.
THINK! - It's not illegal.
