I've installed my very first megamod with this utility:
http://www.shsforums...ds&showfile=752
It is difficult to understand anything in weidu log cause i was forced to use english codepage during russian version installation:
Spoiler

so i think this list from the beginning of installation is more helpful:

Spoiler

Installer informed me that Jondalar Fix and Sword Coast Map Labels were not installed.

Game was pretty smooth until i've entered that small cave, AG4301, and experienced crash.
i tried to spawn creatures from it via CLUAConsole and AGWORG01 spawn caused crash, it was first totally invisible agressive canine i've ever seen.
i think it happens because there is no texture for this creature, there are some errors during infinity animations install in big world debug:
Spoiler

also i found another two errors and two warnings in big world debug:

here is my big world debug.txt full of garbled characters

Please help me, i didn't play the game for at least 8 years, you understand what i feel :)

Actually it's not that much, as the WeiDU.log still writes the .tp2 file names and component numbers well, and that's what's needed in the debugging, not the specific mod component names. :D

The Infinity Animations components didn't install because the required files were not present in the Infinity Animations sub-folder... that's that. The extraction or the download of the files failed.
The .txt file is nice, but you should know that putting it to a .zip archive reduces it's size about ten to hundred times, to about 400kbs at most, it's easier to up and download that way.

I moved \infinityanimations folder away from the game folder, reinstalled the game.
I downloaded all IA packages manually with this linklist: http://kerzenburg.ba....eu/bwpmods.php
After big world setup did its work but before launching big world install i unpacked all infinity animations packages manualy as described in par.25.9.1.-25.9.3 of big world v.10.1.english.pdf
I compared \restore and \content subfolders of previous and current \infinityanimations folders, they have equal size and the same number of files, so there were no extraction or downloading error.
However i reinstalled megamod.
No need to say the problem exists.
I'm running WinXP 64-bit Professional, all avast! screens were disabled during the process.

My weidu log has few changes: some npcs and no bgtnej kit for Imoen.

I cannot install most of infinity animations packages.
My problem is described here:
http://www.shsforums...er-area-ag4301/
After days of waiting and forth attempt of installation i think i need some tricky advice from creators.

At last i tried to install pure english BWP, i hoped there is mistake in localisation, but result is the same:
here is my weidu log:
Spoiler

My big world debug
And my SETUP-INFINITYANIMATIONS.DEBUG

I've changed default language for non unicode programs in regional settings from Russian to English(Great Britain) long before my BWP torture.
I noticed all errors mentioned in three mods are connected with moving of files with characters like µ/Þ/Ø.
Here they are:
ERROR: error copying [vecna/ia/maurezhi/?aa.2da]
ERROR: error loading [aurora/bamtob/?ab.2da]
ERROR: error copying [infinityanimations/content/?A?A1A1.BAM]

I tried to create list of file names from /infinityanimations/content with cmd dir command.
Result was odd, i think here lies the root of problem.
1. When i use simple dir i see proper names of files in console window:
Spoiler

2. When i create a listing with dir > content_listing.txt i see lots of cyrillic characters:
Spoiler

Actually cmd use CP1252 for displaying window data as it should and CP1251 to write data to file.
So problem is in my os, now its not a competent question for this forum but if someone knows the solution i would be grateful.

You need to change your codepage completely before installing either Aurora or Infinity Animations. See the readme or the instructions copied from it below (also should be in the FAQ in Jarno's signature).

Installing with non-ANSI compatible language systems
Baldur's Gate II uses the preset non-Unicode codepage to load resource files. Some of the resources in Infinity Animations use characters like £/µ/Þ/... which map to different numerical values. Therefore, if the installer detects a codepage other than the Windows-1252 "ANSI" codepage used with most Western languages, it will force a registry change to the 1252 codepage and prompt to reboot the system so the change takes effect. After the reboot, you can install the mod normally.

If you have a different codepage and wish to change it manually yourself (and only if), you can set the default system locale for non-Unicode applications to English. This can be done as follows on Windows systems:
-> Control Panel
-> Regional and Language Settings in Classic View (or Clock, Language and Region then Regional and Language Options in fancy view)
-> Click on the Advanced or Administrative tab
-> Then where it talks about non-Unicode programs, change the language to English

Edit: Also make sure the filenames are ok before attempting to install again - if not, download and re-extract them. They should begin with £/µ/Þ etc. If not, you can batch rename them so they have the right prefixes as listed in the .ids files packaged with the mod.

I have the same problem. I've done everything suggested, but that didnt help. Although my cmd and any other viewer displays the file names correctly, vecna installation still shows it as ?aa.2da . Any way to fix that?

vecna installation still shows it as ?aa.2da .

I'm not sure what that means. It shows that where, during install or what? If you have a DEBUG log or screenshot, post it (if it's huge, post it in SPOILER tags).

Edit: it should work if you follow the codepage instructions - also you want to start a new game after installing mods like this obviously, or it will crash.
