After playing for some time with the the BG world and mods installed and other than 1-2 bugs, (1 about Melicamp the chicken which i copied down and sounds like and easy workaround, the other a script problem with a trainer in Candlekeep, between the Dwarf and the church, which i can avoid doing to get around that issue). Other than that, everything had been going swimmingly....until. After completing the Nashkel mines, I returned 1st to the Nashkel carnival, now that I had enough money to buy some of those unlimited ammo pouches, then to Nashkel. Everything seemed fine to that point, so as it was late and i was tired, I logged off. The following day I loaded the game and stutter, stutter everywhere. I found a few references to the stuttering issue, and forgive me, but i'm too old and non-tech savvy enough to go through all those hoops to try and fix this thing(assuming it was fixed after all that). That's not a reflection on anyone here or a beef against the program at all, i simply hate complicated things like following 30 steps to do this that and the other thing, much of which i don't understand. In my younger days it was not an issue, nowadays i just want to install things, make minor tweaks with patches and let's go!! play play play   :woot: . I did run this thing called Ltest? but it failed to do anything and reported errors. *sigh*. Maybe i'll just play it the old fashioned way once and put the game away forever. Really am getting too old for gaming. But if someone knows a quick fix and can point me to it, i'd be grateful.

Fyi i started a new game and was going to run it through the same steps(other than the ammo pouches) to se if that was the probelm, or if i end up in the same situation, at the same place and time in the game.

The reason why you don't find many references is that the pinned FAQ topics point #4 on this forum has most of the required info.
Fisrt things first, open the baldur.ini file with Notepad and copy it to a post.
Put the text to spoiler tags like this:
text
So it produces this:
Spoiler

Next, open the WeiDU.log from the game folder and copy paste that info to the post, in different spoiler tags also.

Thank you for your help Jarno. I apologize if my responses are slow as I have many health issues going on at the moment which are taking up too much of my time. I have 2 questions for clarification purposes before I post this information. The 1st is which baldur.ini and weidu.log files do you need? There are 2, but I assumed you needed the ones from the Bg:SoA folder rather than the BG1 folder as the mod files installed there but wanted to confirm that.
Spoiler
Thanks again for your help in this. I hate sounding like i'm stupid, but sometimes I have to put pride aside and admit that when it comes to mods or some forum prototols(like this spoiler thing) I am.

Yes, the BGII directory's files...

Don't worry about being late to reply... it's just that you get the answers slower, when you respond slower, naturally. But sometimes that's a good thing too.

Low Mem Sounds 1=0
Low Mem Sounds 2=0

You have not disable the ambient sounds.

~SETUP-BGTNEJ.TP2~ #0 #0 // Continuous and Custom Kit Imoen: v1.1

This will cause a problem for you at the BG1->BG2 transition.

C:\games\BGII-Soa\

Next time, make sure you set the game directory's name exactly ... "BGII - SoA", not what you have. Shouldn't cause problems, could though. :whistling:

I edited the BGini file to set up the low mem sounds as indicated by your link to the help page and made sure that my ambient sounds were turned off in the BGconfig. It hasn't helped the stuttering at all on my existing save. I only just got back home from Chemo so i've not had time to play my 2nd game to the same point in the game as my 1st save yet. Hard to play when i have to rest/sleep every few hrs as i still feel weak but I'll keep plugging away at this 2nd game and trying things to fix this. If you have any more ideas/suggestions to try let me know :D . take care.
