Heya, people at shsforums.

After a long while I wanted to play Icewind Dale 1 again, so I installed the game. All fine so far, but when I start the gameplay everything runs terribly slowly. This is odd since I did play it a few years back on the very same system and then it ran very smoothly.

Before posting here I tried several things to solve this prob:

1. I reinstalled the game a couple of times

2. I set all the graphic and sound settings to lowest. I even set all the sound off. The sound change seemed to help somewhat, but still it's choppy (A friend told me that sound settings may cause choppy gameplay)

3. I tried it with and without the 1.06 patch. No difference

4 I adjusted the cache size, the path search nodes, the AI updates / second. Nihil change. It's nothing compared to how it ran a few years back.

5. I defragmented my system. No effect.

6. I use windows XP and tried compatibility of 98 and 95. No effect.



Maybe I am even forgetting one or two tricks I tried, but so far nothing helped. I'd really really really like to play this game and so I hope one of the folks on this forum can help me out with this.

Did you install mods, WeiDU.log's content... Open the file with Notepad.
Open the icewind.ini file with Notepad and copy paste the text to a message...
