Hi Everyone!
I couldn't find the answer to my question elsewhere, therefore I decided to open a new topic.

WHile installing BWP (after download, extraction, clicking "YES" and "OK" in the pop-ups) the install.bat launches. I chose my language (P)olish, (B)GT, enter, ... check is fine (CD5 + Tobreadme.txt)... and then something weird goes on.

Minimum requirements are not met.
The listed mods are not present in your BGII - SoA directory.

<lots of free space here>

The listed mods are mandatory.
Please copy them into your BGII - SoA directory and then continue.

I really don't know what to do...
I installed the all the games correctly, I even have Baldur's Gate 2 installed into BGII - SoA and Baldur's Gate II directory (it's my 4th attempt to run BWP correctly...) but it didn't give any effect (maybe except that in both cases the installation said that my files are in a wrong directory and I should rename it [!!!! even when it was BGII - SoA !!!!])
Help me?:)

Many thanx in advance!

Richard

Oh, and by the way,
My version is a Polish compilation of whole "regular" Saga on 1 DVD - I have copied bif file to CD5\movies and created bg2 tobreadme.txt file so it should work fine... but it doesn't!

...

Rather than saying what's there, you could post what's actually there, upload the "BiG World Debug.txt" in a .zip archive from your game directory.

As for example the patches readme file is "BG2-ToBPatchReadMe.txt", not what you said...

Thank you for your interest in the topic.

I just wanted to simplify my thought, the filename is just as the above.
I'm going to give BWP one last chance and then, if something will go wrong again, I will post the debug file.

Thanks in advance and/or hold your thumbs;)!

Strangely as it seems... when I chose (P)olish installation language - above problem with minimum requirements occured.

Something in back of my head told me "try with (E)nglish". Suprise, suprise, it worked! Although I'm concerned about the entry : "Language: english only" - I dunno if I will have mods in Polish language or not (maybe it says "english only" but the choice I made during setup was Polish as top priority and English as secondary, thus it will "adapt" and keep the Polish lines).
At that moment I stopped the installation since I would like to know your opinion about the thing.

Every answer is highly appreciated!

Greetz!

R.

Well, I cannot give you a good answer, as I have never used any other languages than English in a megamod.

I don't get it...
The installation went so-so well but there were some errors that referred to bgmain filesize

TobEx EXE patch: Target bytes don't match, aborting...
Stopping installation because of error.
ERROR: [bgmain.exe] -> [bgmain.exe] Patching Failed (COPY) (Failure("TobEx EXE patch: Target bytes don't match, aborting..."))
Stopping installation because of error.
Stopping installation because of error.
Stopping installation because of error.

after the whole process was completed... I wasn't able to run the game to check if anything works.

On one of the Polish forums I got the clue that I should replace my bgmain.exe file with the one that is on CD-version (as I said, I have a DVD compilation...) since some mods may have problems with installation.

Eh... If I knew it before I would try with this thing from the beginning and didn't waste whole day/night cycle to install BWP.

Anyway, I attach my Big World Debug file - if someone would be so kind to take a look at it and share opinions I would be grateful.

Cheers!

Okay, I finally came to the point where I can launch BWP!

I needed to overwrite the bgmain.exe file with the one from the cd version (but the "classic-classic" one, with 4 + 1 CD's).
Since then the installation process went fine. Unfortunately (for me at least) the only install option was English, but I suspect that if I were to overwrite *.tra files from English folder with those from Polish one it would work fine in Polish (of course, only some mods would be affected). Still, it would be nice to have working installer without complications and problems like "minimum requirements are not met <free space, no lines> etc.

Thanks for your help.

About the missing files:
If you add a space after line 12 SET MOD=.exe echo, the batch should have displayed things correctly.

About the text:
If someone copies and then translates the text from the BiG World Installpack\English/German/Spanish/Russian and sends them to Leonardo, it will be placed in you BiG World Installpack\[your language folder].

So talks about English since it's lacking a Polish translation.

The logic about selecting languages is taken from the tra.txt. You can see that the file from the English and Polish folder differ. BGT has BGT=0 N or BGT=7 N. So it installs 0 in native language if you select English or 7 (native) if you select Polish.
THINK! - It's not illegal.

By space you mean additional line (one more "enter"), right? If so - the problem didn't disappear...:(

If I understand it correctly, you refer to the installation notifications like press (E)nglish to choose English, or ... (S)tandard for standard version, am I right? Just the "user interface", nothing more. Hm... maybe I will take another look into this and translate it.

Is there any way to "force" the Big World Install.bat to chose only Polish translations? I can't get through it - it says "Language: english only" - it's quite disappointing

Many thanks for all information!

I'll quote a space for you: " ". :D

If you'd translate the files from the Polish-folder, you'd have to replace English with Polish.
In the German file, there's a note that if you use SL, you get German only.
So in the Polish file, you use SL to get Polish only.

If you use the L, only mods that have an N for native in the Tra.txt get installed. You could also add native and English only if you adjust the BiG World Installpak\Install.bat-file.
THINK! - It's not illegal.
