I've defeated Saravok and went back to Belt. He keeps giving me a free room at the 3 kegs inn, and that's it. Do I have to beat the ToS missions to move on to BG 2?

No, you just have to go through the set scenario, you'll be coming back to Belt actually. The free room is just a free room, but you'll have to go trough the talks...I've defeated Saravok and went back to Belt. He keeps giving me a free room at the 3 kegs inn, and that's it. Do I have to beat the ToS missions to move on to BG 2?

I'll give it another try tonight. However, I've talked to Belt at least 5 times and he keeps giving me the room at the 3 kegs. Is there someone else to whom I have to talk?
Once (2nd time I think), the messenger from Ulgoth Beard showed up and Belt said I should go do that now. Hence why I thought I'd have to do the ToS quests.

Have you been at the Three Old Kegs second or third floor and talked to the man at there ? In case you don't know where it's at, it's on the right side of the palace... the number 1 on this map:I'll give it another try tonight. Here's what I've done:
Beat the beat the bad guy. Saw the message on screen telling me to go back to the palace and let them know.
Talked to everyone who would: belt and the flaming fists. Two nobles I think saved in the doppleganger fight are "busy".
Belt said I get a room on them at the 3 kegs, but did not transport me.
Went to 3 kegs and ended up buying a room, since I needed one and didn't know I was supposed to me transported.
Went back to belt, and the messenger from Ulgoth's shows up, and Belt says to help them out.
I beat the part of Ulgoth (the maze thingy). Went back to Belt and got the free room at 3 kegs.
Talked to him again, and got the free room again.
I talked to everyone at the inn. No one but my party on floor 3. Floor two has a cook who throws me out and a woman worried about money.
Bottom floor has 5 or so people, but they're all information about the main quest I already beat, the innkeeper, or the one jester dressed commoner who is "busy".
Went to the Tower for a bit, and then remembered it was a big pain in the butt and I only liked the chess fight.
So then, I posted here.

I think this is a game from the legacy version of BGT, especially because of the Belt making you buy a room and the messenger making you do TotSC. I think in that old version, you did have to complete TotSC before making the transition.
