So I've been searching high and low for solutions to a bunch of issues I'm having with BWP. I'm pretty much a noob to modding (went with BWP due to recommendation from a friend and a reddit guide that made it sound very easy), so please bear with me if I sound dumb. I've tried installing BWP about 4 times now. Every time I install, when it gets to the portion in the install.bat where it's installing all the mods, I encounter loads of errors and mods not getting installed as a result of those errors. I don't have the install.bat open atm but if you guys want, I'll rerun it and copy the error here.

Just as an example, though, if I try to manually install some of the mods that didn't install, for example, BG1 NPC Project, I get this:

Spoiler

Maybe I should go to gibberlings to ask about that one, but I figured it'd be more suitable here since the only thing I'm using is BWP.

When I actually try to run the game, though, from the ToBExLoader.exe, I get this:

Spoiler

If you need any other info, please let me know and I'll provide it. Hopefully by then I won't have pulled out all my hair, though.

BGT was not installed. So loads of mods won't install either.
What's in Setup-BGT*.debug? I just guess that BG1 is not installed in the expected path and thus it fails.
THINK! - It's not illegal.

Doesn't BWS install BGT automatically? Here's my Setup-BGT.debug file:

I also tried installing it in C:\Games\BGII - SoA\BGT but it said I needed a setup-bg1npc.tp2 file which isn't there. In the instructions, though, it says that I should start the game using TobExLoader.exe, which gives the GUI error from above.

From your .debug:

SKIPPING: [Baldur's Gate Trilogy - Core]
Throne of Bhaal is required to install this modification.

When I open the game, it says Throne of Bhaal in large letters across the splash screen. Just to be sure, I installed Throne of Bhaal again, patched it again, and tried to install BGT again. I got lots of errors saying files and resources couldn't be found. This is the debug:

No wonder. Well, you cannot go and install BGT after bif-ing the entire game. Why it originally failed in BWS, I don't know, but it isn't this...

That's in your BG1 directory... the BG1 directory needs to be a clean install, not one with dozens of mods.... uninstall the BG1, then remove it's game directory and reinstall the BG1 to get a clean copy.

So after I reinstall and repatch BG1, I should reinstall BGT? Or redo BWP completely (which includes BGT, incidentally)?

Also, if it helps, here's an SS of my BG1 directory:

And one of my BG2 directory:

Redo BWS, not BWP... if you used the BWS. But if you didn't, you have to do the whole BWP, and the easiest way is to use the BWS, yes. So redo BWP...

Let me also detail the steps and the order I've been taking so far and see if I've gone wrong anywhere with the order:

When I begin the install with BG, I change the BG1 directory to C:\Games\Baldur's Gate and the BG2 directory to C:\Games\BGII - SoA.
After installing both, I use patches 5512 and 26498.
I start the game and load the saves that I made the very first time I tried to install for BG1, SoA, and ToB, hit Q on all 3 and then exit the game.
I start up BWP and go through all the motions of backing up, testing links, updating links, turning those path browsing buttons green, downloading the mods, manually downloading the mods that don't download, extracting all the mods to C:\Games\BGII - SoA and manually extracting the ones that didn't download correctly.
I use the fixpack after extracting but before using the install.bat.
I go to the install.bat, edit it so it doesn't point to the default path for BG1, then start the install.
It goes through a bunch of motions with me choosing options, then watch it copy and install stuff for a while until it says the path is invalid and for some reason points to C:/Games/Baldur's Gate even though I copied the path directly from my file folder.
I restart the installation twice and for some reason on the third try, it works and doesn't try to install to the wrong directory.
I then get lots and lots of errors for different mods. Some install correctly, others refuse to install for a multitude of reasons including it not being installed in BGT, a file missing, or what have you.
Finally, I try to see if the game at least works and it doesn't due to the reasons listed in the OP.

Erhm, the BW Fixpack doesn't need to be used before you start the .bat... as the BiG World Install.bat will use it, when it's exracted to the install folder.

Other than that, I cannot say what went wrong without having access to your BiG World Debug.txt file, that the install makes into your game directory. If you upload it to the forum here, I advice to put it into a .zip archive and upload that, as it will make it 10x - 100x times smaller.

Yeah, I actually noticed that but just decided to bash my head against the wall a bit more. As for the BiG World Debug.txt, this link should work:

https://rapidshare.c...World_Debug.txt

Let me know if that doesn't work and thanks for taking a look.

Just added the file to an attachment on the forums.

Also, just noticed this when I was reinstalling BG1.

BIG WORLD PROJECT - BG1 MISSING FILES

When you have used the official "BioWare BG1-ToSC Patch" some BG1 files were deleted.
To correct this issue extract this package into the BG1 main directory to restore the files.

It could be that you have these files. This depends on which Baldur's Gate version you have buyed
and how this version was patched. In this case you don't need this package.

If you have questions, suggestions or problems, please contact us in the forum.

Version 1 (by Amodeus)
- Initial Release

Version 2 (30.03.2009 by Leomar)
- Repackaged for easier handling
- Added Readme

The patch comes in a .rar file, but in the .rar file is just a .exe. I can open the .exe file with WinRAR, but there's nothing to tell me where the files go once I do that so I can manually patch the client.

You exract the files into the BG1 game folder... so the override folder that the package contains is the override folder the game folder contains, and the files in it are added into it.

Now, what I read from the ...World_Debug.txt file, it shows that the BWP Fixpack was reinstalled at least once... after the BGT had failed to install as it was sending this to the command line the whole time:
C:/Games/BGII - SoA
And that's a bad thing...

Yeah I mentioned in a previous post that I couldn't figure out why it was doing that after I had edited the path in the Big World Install.bat from the default C:\Program Files\Black Isle\Baldur's Gate. I even copied and pasted it directly from my folder path to make sure I wasn't somehow hitting a / instead of a \. I guess the issue wasn't the install.bat, but the setup-bgt.exe
