I am in Coast Way, and whenever I try to take the road north to Friendly Arm Inn, or south to Beregost, the game gets stuck in a black screen, about a quarter way through the loading bar. I'm running the Big World Setup.

I forgot to add that I'm in Chapter 2, and am going to these places for the first time, from Coast Way.

Well, this is totally the wrong forum... that's not to say that there would be more help coming but still... the WeiDU.logs content could help too.
This will be moved to here, the proper forum section, hopefully soon.

I apologize, I have no idea what goes where.
Which file is the proper WeiDU log? Sorry, kinda new to this. >_>

Which file is the proper WeiDU log?

It's the file that lists what mods you have installed... make sure your operation system has the known file extensions shown, and go to the game directory, find the file called "WeiDU.log" and open it with Notepad, copy paste the list it gives to a post.

apologize

There's no need for those, it's just that the help comes faster when you do the things the right way. :whistling:

Okay, got it. I have the area checker on there, because I tried to self-diagnose.

Well, I've decided I'm going to re-install the entire Big World Project with the "Standard" settings anyway. Maybe it'll fix it, as I had a lot of BSOD during the install of it the other time. But whenever I had a problem, usually you already addressed it in some past post, Jarno. So I thank you for doing what you do.

Jarno, apparently, has forgotten what's in his own signature:

Always post the contents of your baldur.err in the case of crashes.

It should contain the assertion error message from after the crash. Also something may have gone wrong with your install, since your WeiDU.log has only the last few mod entries.

Yeah, I've given up so far, now. Every time I install, I bluescreen in the middle of it, every attempt. I've been at it for a week now.

I've never heard of the installer causing a crash - sounds more like an OS issue. How far does it get? Is your OS in a non-Western European language?

It does it at random times. My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate, USA. It's just my system I guess. I get stuff like "bug_code_usb" and "bad page pool" or something along those lines. Not something with the installer, but for some reason, it seems I bluescreen all the time, in the middle of it.

If you write down the exact error message and offsets when you get the BSOD, sometimes you can search the web and figure out the problem. Could be a video card issue, memory, hard drive, just about anything really, but it depends on the message.

I believe you're getting "bad pool caller", and it's a hardware-related issue. Or rather, it's that your OS is not playing nice with your hardware. In my experience, it's often related to your network. Check IRQ and other conflicts - google will tell you more.
