Hey everyone,

I'm working on a MOD for IWD2 and I try to obtain new areas with a bigger size than the one we have by default (3840 X 2800). After several tests, I arrived to a maximum of 5120 X 3776 (80 X 59).

When i try an area wich size is 5120 X 3840 (BG max size - 80 x 60), the game crashes (no error message, just a black screen)! And I do not understand why? In any case I do not see if, in the files we can access, any could have a part on it and be modified to make this dimension possible.
If somebody has an idea, i would appreciate any help provided...

Long time known problem. Unfortunately there's no explanation why this happens - I've always successfully used 80x60 but many other area modders (yourself included) have found that they can only use a max of 80x59.

Thank you for your answer, wich confirms what i supposed/feared.

When you say

I've always successfully used 80x60

is this about Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale ?

IWD2 has a smaller minimum area size than BG2 (which I found out only with difficulty) - it wouldn't surprise me if it has a smaller maximum area size too.

In that particular case I was refering to a couple of recent areas I've created for Baldur's Gate and also Shadows of Amn, but (just to clarify) other area modders have found that they can only go to 80x59 for both of those games.
