I have two totally clean installs of BG1 and BG2 - I tested them separately and they both work.
BGT appears to install correctly, ending with the autolink to "post-installation notes".
When I click on the BGMain.exe, I get a window with a "-1" and then click OK.
It brings up another window that says "An assertion failed in ChDimm.cop at line number 834". Click OK, end of start attempt.
Does anybody know why it won't run and/or what this error means?
Thanks.
BGT not starting

I don't think the BGT install actually really worked at all... you have to adjust the baldur.ini's [Alias] -lines, the 6 lines under it so tey point to the right directory....
As it is that you cannot register two installs of either of the two addons, Tales of the Sword Coast and Throne of Bhall. So you cannot actually have two installs.

Okay, I changed the six lines in the .ini file to the correct paths. The exact same startup error occurs, so it didn't do anything different.
Any other ideas?
(BTW - I don't have 'two installs' of BGT. I was saying that my game resource installs of both BG1 and BG2 are clean and in working order.)
EDIT - I got it to work by starting all over and using the default directory for BGII-SoA. The problem was happening because I was trying to install it somewhere other than Program Files (x86) in Windows 7, which people advise you to do. But this program doesn't recognize anything but the default path for BG2.
