I think I've installed a few too many mods recently, and now when I'm playing through BG2, some of the NPC mods that I had previously uninstalled are still there; for example, I installed Yikari and uninstalled him later because of problems. He's still there, but his name is not 'Yikari'; it's a line of dialogue from the Ajantis mod, which I also uninstalled earlier. This happens with several NPC mods like Saerileth. However, I still have Solaufein, and he's working smoothly. So is Dungeon Crawl and a few others like the Underrepresented items mods. Also, my Ascension mod seems to not work; I kill Irenicus and Imoen, and then nothing else happens.
I think my Chitin.Key is damaged. Is there any way to perhaps get a fresh, new one?

Easy, you just uninstall the game.
Well, actually you probably should use the answer #8 there to make a working backup that has your saves weidu.log etc, then uninstall the game, delete the game folder, then reinstall remember to patch the game, then run it and then install the mods that are in your Weidu.log and then try to load the save ... the dialog are probably all wisted after that a re start will correct that. See the names and all those problems should come from the info not correctly being removed... there's mods that do that too but they shouldn't. See the best way to deal with this is making an install, and if you run into problems dealing with them without reinstalling ... as then you need to restart the game. Dealing with an NPC mod problem, you drop them off, and kill them. Easy.

Yikari...Ajantis...Saerileth...Solaufein...Dungeon Crawl...Underrepresented items...Ascension mod

You probably should be using the BWSbeta to install all those mods in one swoop go. And you are not. As it has it's own re-setup that gives you the reset of the Chitin.key, dialog.tlk etc. from the backup made in the process.
