Yesterday, I've downloaded the latest version of the BWS beta. In this version, I wasn't able to install both The Darkest Day and Region of Terror mods. Upon completing mod selection, the incompatibility summary showed up, and amongst it were those two, though why they didn't fit together wasn't really specified. It only said components 0 from either mods where preferred to some other mod's component.

The only thing I ever really wanted from RoT were the kits anyway, so realizing afterwards that I could install the kits alone without the main RoT component made it ok for me, so this issue isn't a pressing matter for me. Unfortunatly, I don't think I'll be the only one having this problem, ans settling for one over the other might not be acceptable to everyone. ;)

If you need any files that might shed some light on this, just let me know.

I'm off starting a new game, and hopefully, no other issues will arise.

I had this exact problem, and it appears to be caused by using an exclusive OR in the conflict check (for BP level50 ruleset).

Oh another unrelated thing is that turambar fixes to bonehill are missing the dependency definition (D:) and are thus interpreted as conflicting instead. Edit: Possibly there's more to it than that, I'll poke around a bit more.

I could upload a fixed mod.ini but the problem is really simple to fix.

Edit2: It was also missing a (-) there so the utility had problems interpreting it. (the bonehill thing)

Edit3: Hey, I am not even allowed to upload it (even if renamed to get around it possibly being an inflated .ini), so whatever.

Try converting the file into a .txt file.

Also, since it is unrelated to the topic, you might wanna start a new thread for this other issue: makes searching for it easier for others if they also have the problem.

I just went in and editted the .bat file like I've always done. It seems whoever wrote the new installer doesn't like "conceptual" incompatibilities and coded in that both files can't load. Removed the checks, mods load like they always have.

To me it looks like the "conflict" in the case of the two mods named is they both use an NPC named Drizzt.

The Darkest Day uses Drizzt as well? Yeah, that could explain it: several mods which includes Drizzt don't work well with each other, either for technical or conceptual reasons. Those are usually made incompatible in the BWS.

The Darkest Day uses Drizzt as well?

Look into here if you need to find what mods use what characters.

Actually the issue is just in the mod definitions in the installer AFAIK. Here's the updated mod.ini, it goes inside BiG World Setup\config and it needs to be renamed to mod.ini.

Could you elaborate on what exactly did you change in the mod.ini. I really cannot make it work with BWS...

I am also having trouble trying to install RoT and TDD together. I assume the mod.ini.txt file (above) replaces the mod.ini file in ...\BGII - SoA\Big World Setup\Config

Tom

Thanks AmpSeraph!

I tried out your MOD.ini fix and I was able to install both RoT and TDD.

Tom

My sincere apologies. I should have looked more carefully at the files last night. I got two games mixed up. Ampseraph's fix only prevented BWS Setup 9 from telling me there was a problem between RoT and TDD. In checking the WeiDU log, I found that BWS Setup 9 still removed TDD from the installation list and did not install that MOD.
