Hello,

First of all, sorry for posting a message I posted in 2 other forums (ascension forum at Pocket Plane and oversight forum at G3). But I now realize that the problem I have is not related to a specific mod since it happens whether I have Ascension or Oversight installed.

In short, the "Lunar Stance" ability (shared by the improved monk mod in Oversight and by Balthazar in Ascension) make the game freeze and crash to desktop.

On my last game, I had Ascension installed along few other mods (tweakpacks, fixpacks, ub, dbg scs2 and widescreen) and at the final battle, Balthazar would make the game freeze then crash : his solar stance was bugged I think. I even played from an older save where I convinced him to kill himself at his temple so I could finish the game. Unfortunately, with ascension installed, Balthazar was still preseent in the final battle, revived by melissan. As expected, the game crashed again when he launched his lunar stance, this time.

So, I cursed Ascension and decided to completely reinstall the game without Ascension and staredt a new character, a Monk. I installed the same tweaks/fix mods + oversight with only the new monk HLAs.

Wary of the bug, I started a new game with my monk and gave him 5 million exp points through the console to test his HLAs. Solar stance worked, the fireball animation was displayed and imoen felt the effects... Unfortunately, when I tried to do a Lunar Stance, same bug! The game just froze completely, I had to Alt-Tab to get out of there.

- I did put 'logging on=1' in baldur.ini but my baldur.err file is empty.

- I tried to uninstall the widecreen mod but the problem persists. I tried to deactivate 3d animations and 3d acceleraiton in the options but it did nothing. It's probably a bug with the Lunar Stance animation, maybe due to a conflict with another mod? My instalation is not crazy though.

- I have win7 + amd athlonf FX + geforce 8600 gts + 2GB of ram.

Here's my Weidu.log (should I attach it instead?):

it happens whether I have Ascension or Oversight installed.

Does it happen if you have neither mod installed? Sounds like it might be a corrupted BAM or something (if so, and I'm just guessing, clearing temp/cache folders might help, or a disk cleaning and reinstall if all else fails).

I registered few days ago, I'm the OP.

So, I uninstalled the whole game to start afresh with a thief this time. I had Ascension installed + the rest without Oversight. After seeing your reply I uninstalled Ascension and left the rest of the mods and spawned Balthazar in a new game. He used his Lunar Stance against me and it worked without any glitches.

Then I reinstalled Ascension and did the exact same thing, loaded my new character quicksave and spawned Balthazar. This time the game crashed when he launched his Lunar Stance.

I think it's because in Vanilla game Lunar Stance is different, even for Balthazar, so the effect doesn't make the game crash whereas with Ascension and Oversight (which copies the Lunar Stance capabilities of Ascension) there is a problem in my case.
