Introduction:

Swylif Thicc is a svirfneblin sorcerer, who resides in Saradush. He's a mercenary, so to make him join you must... pay him! He may be considered a bit...insolent and mad. He's evil, but not in the way Edwin is.
NPC includes 5 timered talks, 2 fired by areas, 1 quest, some new items, a small area, 2 possible epilogues, banters with Bioware NPCs... Caution: this mod does not include lettuce, since Swylif hates lettuce.
He won't fight with other NPCs, however he may dislike some of them. You don't know what I mean? Join Edwin and see their banters.
However, he will get along with Aerie. Check it out!
...well, this mod isn't really serious. It was made in a week time... ok, fine... weekend! I needed something to get some rest from the other projects. Still, there is some content so it may be worth to try the mod at least once! I hope so... at least for the items!

Installation:

As any other mod... really. Just unzip it to main BG2 directory, run setup.exe and feel the joy. Note joy does mean NO LETTUCE.

Cool NPC! So much better than another elf or a drow. I am not sure if I will have him in my party on my next play-though, because I normally play good guys.

I'm not sure if he's evil too... Maybe I should change it to neutral. He's not good, but he has some emotions, he may feel thankful for help. All he seeks is a good business and is not used to telling truth. Maybe that should be some mask-neutral, not evil... For example he acctually really likes Aerie... Having him in good party may be actually a good idea.

I think i found a dialogue bug in Swylif friendly talks (LS#SWYJ.DLG).

 

Friendlytalk 6 "Where have you lived before you started this journey?" has wrong local setting in one of the "ends". When Swylif says "Let's say I'm...grateful for sharing your knowledge with me. Now let us move." you have "SetGlobal("LavaLoveTalk","LOCALS",7)" it probably should be "SetGlobal("SWYTalk","LOCALS",7)" like the other "ends".

 

This leads to repeating friendlytalk because "SWYTalk" is not set to 7. Well at least if keep talking same way.

 

Side note, what's local "LavaLoveTalk" means.

Uuuuuh.... I probably copied it from somewhere, probably from a script scheme I sometimes use when I'm too lazy and just copy half-empty blocks... Yeah, that can be fixed easily, as - no offence - I don't feel like having love talks with you...

 

...but PLEASE - Swylif is NOT a CoI mod and it's not a place to report bugs for all my mods. If you want to comment on my other mods, use apropriate forums/threads.

 

It would be great if someone from Staff could move these posts to Swylif's thread, please.

Dear Players!

It's been so many years since I released my first project. And I just couldn't stop there. I would keep releasing new projects and while it takes more time these days, I still keep providing you new mods. I just like it. In the same time, my mods are all over different sites and sometimes it's hard to get everyone informed about new releases, new updates, remember about all the threads... I also like trying new things. Because of that, I've decided to centralize my work. That means I am moving almost all my mods to... well, a brand new place: Weasel Mods Forums.

There are some project I won't move, though: like those that are part of something bigger than just me. Like projects I released as a part of NPC IEP mods (Valygar Friendship, Minsc Friendship, etc.) or Yoshimo's Remorse I released along with jmaeq.

I hope you'll enjoy the new place. Perhaps it's not as modern, some solutions may seem a bit outdated, but... I just hope the new site will serve the purpose and that you'll find it at least "ok". The old download links may expire in a while as with time those mods will be removed from SHS. Because of the same reason, mods I uploaded at Beamdog forums will also be available only at Weasel Mods.
