[SOLVED]

This is basically just a repost of something i asked on the GoG forums:

So I got over a lot of the hurdles to run the BiG World Setup with the GoG version, however in the install script I get to the point where it runs the trimpack, saying "processing fixes for BGT", and new window comes up, windows also asks me to allow it, I do. New window called "Big World Trimpack\_utils\patch.exe just sits there, blank, forever, I can even type in it and so on, it's doing jack.

So my question to you is:

What do!?

Any help is appreciated!

I think you have the same problem as this guy. You could follow the instructions that he received.

...

Go to C:/games/black isle/bgt/BGII - SoA
Make a new file called "BG2-ToBPatchReadMe.txt" and save.
The other thing you need to do is copy the "25Movies.bif" from somewhere to the C:/games/black isle/bgt/BGII - SoA/CD5/movies -directory and add this line to the CD5 [Alias] line in the baldur.ini file that you can open with Notepad for example:
[Alias]
HD0:=C:\games\black isle\bgt\BGII - SoA\
CD1:=C:\games\black isle\bgt\BGII - SoA\CDALL\
CD2:=C:\games\black isle\bgt\BGII - SoA\CDALL\
CD3:=C:\games\black isle\bgt\BGII - SoA\CDALL\
CD4:=C:\games\black isle\bgt\BGII - SoA\CDALL\
CD5:=C:\games\black isle\bgt\BGII - SoA\CDALL\;C:\games\black isle\bgt\BGII - SoA\CD5\

Already got over that particular problem, but thanks for the reply, If anyone cares, I just figured it out.

Turns out I had a similar problem to this guy , but I couldn't solve it the same way. When I tried to start the install.bat as an administrator it simply flashed up and then exited, same when I opened it from the CMD. Ending up with me running the CMD in administrator, navigate over there, then start it, and it worked.

A bit labyrinthine, but got it.

I'm having this same type of problem and not finding the solution with these suggestions.  With my Windows 8 system, trying to run the Big World Installer.bat, an error message comes back saying that Windows cannot find the pulse_bar.bat (even through it's in there).  Same results with the command prompt.  Moving the 25Movie.bif, adding the text file and changing the ini has not worked.  With previous attempts, I've had this hang up on 1pp, AjocMod, and a few others.  Currently the hang up is with BuTcHeRy.

Yep, Jarno Mikkola. my Mega Mod FAQ. Use of the BWS, and how to use it(scroll down that post a bit).
OK, desert dweller, welcome to the sanity, you are free to search for the limit, it's out there, we drew it in the sand. Ouh, actually it was still snow then.. but anyways.
