I am in the early stages of creating an NPC Mod for BGT with an additional Tower, additional Dungeon and and additional Town, with a high end NPC Quest. During the Quest it might be possible for the player to make similar choices in game, and would like some feedback on the choices and any suggestions that you might add.

As mentioned, an additional Tower is effort I would not want myself to go through, much less anyone who has not done a mod before. At the risk of me being a wet blanket, I think you will not be able to finish the mod unless you focus on what you want to do. You can always expand after you have a release.

Next Bit - level 17 FTM? what class level is that? would it be 17F/19T/15M ? since each class is different due to diferring XP required. If the character joins me anytime before the end of SoA, I would consider him OP ; and even if he doesn't, I can get the same effect by having 1 or 2 single-class or multi-class characters that level up faster

Comparing the Two Swords - Berzerk is a real irritant, but an additional -5 CHR is no issue esp if the -5 CHR character is not the one talking to Storekeepers. -5 CON is also no big deal over -2 CON. Plus only Fighters benefit from CON, should I equip a non-Fighter with the Sword I have no loss in HP whatsoever. That said, 6d6 is really powerful in SoA, especially if tossed on a Fighter/Thief with backstab (so he sneaks up and backstabs and really splatters the guy lol), so I'd pick that. In any case, I can always stand by a F/M or some other character with high Thac0 and Staff of Magi to try to get rid of his berzerk. I'm also going to assume that your Sword effect bypasses stuff like Shield of Harmony, since I could just equip that and prevent the negative effects from going off. 6d6 is pretty awesome, a bit OP for a fair playthrough, but yeah I voted what was probably the most "desirable" out of the 3.

PS : long time players of BG2 don't really seek more powerful things, I think. be they more powerful items or more powerful NPCs. ^^;;

yeah the idea would be to supercede all other affects, and the sword would be for the PC only. I am also toying with the idea of adding a flat -50 to HP, or something to that affect, as far as the NPC, it would be after Escape from Spellhold, but before ToB. And yes the 17F/19T/15M

Um, I don't expect a lot of replies, but a lot of people have viewed this thread and SOME votes on it would be nice. Also, I appreciate feedback even if its to say non, noe of that works for me...

There are ambitious NPC mods that get finished, but they're rare.

The choices you offer say nothing about the NPC. They are all about the toys that come with him. What is he like?

And Zyraen is right. If you are seeking public approval for your project, you should probably know that most players are pretty indifferent about power gaming. Uber NPCs/items/quests/etc will not wow them as much as thoughtful, well-developed NPCs/quests/etc.

Agreed that a M/T or F/M/T is the most attractive choice, as the combination has so many benefits, and because the more unique and interesting NPCs we can get, the better!

Happy modding,

A female elf warrior of nature and a Bhaalspawn cross paths during their quests, joining forces to share adventure and companionship. Will they find more?

Do the big sword mod. It'll take you an hour. Then do a "2 Dragons battle" mod with some dialogue(a character who gives the quest in Athkatla). It will take you a day. Then you could decide whether you want to do a bigger mod, and which one specifically.

Ooh, not another mage thief please! There are more than enough of those in the original game. Granted there is a gap for a more thief orientated thief mage, but I would find it hard to get excited about it. The sword has potential, but I don't ever see myself using it. 20% chance of confusion would be a turn off for me.

Dragons! Dragons are cool, go for that!
