Hi, out of the Underdark at level 12-13, with:
Korgan, Viconia, Minsc, Imoen, Valygar, PC ranged fighter, killing Drizzt and his goons is quite the challenge.
After many reloads, I found an effective tactic.
Beside the obvious (Defensive Harmony, Improved Haste, Berzerk, Potion of Strength, Bless, etc.), I found that using the Staff of Command (from the Mind Flayer base) seems to work everytime (tried 3 times) on Bruenor and Wulfgar, and that's the decisive trick in the battle. "Cheesy" like the BG1 Nymph cloak, but the only way for me.
If you know more bona fide tactics, please share.

I talked Drizzt into coming to Athkatla to help me fight Bodhi. When we got there I turned into the slayer in the narrow vampire tunnels and only had to fight Drizzt and his companions one at a time. I killed Drizzt first. He was the most challenging, but I had plenty of healing potions in my quick item slots and a couple of clerics behind my PC casting healing spells while he was attacking Drizzt. After Drizzt died I ended the slayer change and fought Wulfgar and the others as a normal character. They didn't last long. I was unable to beat Drizzt without turning into the slayer, although I did manage to kill all his companions outside once by casting haste on my party and having them run circles around Drizzt while pausing from time to time to throw energy blades at his friends.

I've tried different tactics for Drizzt and company as well. And the most efective one was as follows:
1. Talk to him and make him hostile.
2. Hide all party through Invisibility 10' radius, Mass Invisibility spells or by drinking potions.
3. Move to the lower right corner, buff and prepare.
4. Staying out of sight cast Greater Malison, Web and Slow spells to neutralize as many of them as possible.
5. I ussually preferred to kill everyone but Drizzt because eliminating him may take quite long. Just make Drizzt busy running away from him while beating others. When Drizzt remains alone, he's not that a problem if you have good tank and Lower Resistance spell.

I see you understand "bona fide" the way I do.
