4th installation, same result. Everytime with different mod-compilations.

I'm done wasting my time with this. As appealing as a complete Baldur's Gate saga sounds, it's unplayable without saving or resting.

@ Friedhelm

Could you give me a listing of the mods common to all 4 attempts you've made? I'll compare it with my own selection and see if I can go somewhere with this.

As it turned out I wasn't done wasting my time yet afterall. I installed it a 5th time and now only the Minimum version with just a few add-ons.

Now I can save and rest just like we're used to, so it's probably one of the many different Tweakpacks that is causing the trouble, because I left most of those out.

Maybe this will help: Weidu Log

6th installation (I wanted a few more mods than just the Minimum-version) and again I left out all the BG1 content. Seems to work save-wise, but now the game stutters like playing on a 286 PC. Whenever I move my party the game runs with 1 Frame every 5-10 seconds.

Try to install Generalized Biffing.
THINK! - It's not illegal.

That worked, thanks.

Do you always play with tobex? Could someone try and see if launching the game via bgmain.exe also has this problem?
If it has come out so suddently and with different mods, it must be something quite recent...

BTW, perhaps some hacks could be done to always allow saves (as I've seen Quinn's done with PST)?

Ctrl+R once or twice on all party members seems to work for me.

A bit of a long shot: games with save issues might be caused by invisible creatures with DW#Range script from SCS1: they exist and this script is bugged, only when using GenBiff. I had similar save issues, though maybe not quite as pronounced. It's been fixed now, a new SCS release and the Bigg has updated GenBiff on that git site...

I believe it is a bug with Turambar's mod. I would love a drop-in fix, but I am not willing to reinstall.

I believe it is a bug with Turambar's mod. I would love a drop-in fix, but I am not willing to reinstall.

Apparently, the new version of tobex allows me to use opcode 232 for the spell wich now apparently causes the problem with opcode 272.
I've been testing it for a while, and it appears to work and to allow saves (I've added an effect with opcode 8 and have been going around with shining pink and green wolves in my party for some time).

I will fix my code now, and hopefully a new version of my mod will come out in the next days.

Unfortunately, Bill Gates messed up the most recent version of my installer, so I won't be able to release some other new things I had already prepared immediately. But I will, at least, try to fix this particular problem.

I think that putting the TUDRWUD spell from the new version of the mod into your override folder should

edit: I've uploaded the new version; I hope it works (as it did in the tests).
