How do I make a MOD?

I've got a couple questions:
What kind of mod would people most like to see?
And is there an area editor simpler than TeamBGs?
And (okay, guess this is more than a couple questions), is does anyone know another mirror for Near Infinity? I clicked on a link to download, but it said "cannot find page".
YAY! My first ever post! (on FWstudios anyhow)

Make the kind of mod you like the most, since that way you may actually finish it. Public opinion generally sucks. What kind of mod would people most like to see?

Area editor: No, sadly not.And is there an area editor simpler than TeamBGs?

Near Infinity: Not that I know of... I never had any difficulties reaching http://www.idi.ntnu....i/download.html .

Another question: Would you suggest making a mod yourself, or is it better to have others helping you?

And, referring to the original question: yes, "simpler" it most probably won't get.
IETME, however, is clearly suffering from lack of updates and (at least imho) not exactly intuitive to use, which is partly caused by the strange idea that you'd want to assemble your area backdrop in IETME itself.
Humm. Strictly imho, all that.

And there's nothing stopping you importing a pre-rendered BMP into IETME and completely ignoring the tileset feature, which is an optional (if utterly useless) extra.
