This might be a bit of a peculiar question but some searching and reading hasn't found an answer yet.

Is it possible to check for the colours a character has (Hair, skin, etc)? I know you can set colours with effects or borrowing from a creature file - but is there a 'get' for it?

For example if a PC had selected the blue hair and an NPC wanted to comment on it would they be able to by picking out the colour or would it have to be done the long way round by setting a variable elsewhere?

Hope that made sense!

I don't think this is currently possible. Someone would have to hack a HairColour() trigger or an expanded stat for colour detection (see the TobEx threads if you wish to request such a thing).

there is one way to do it, however it would involve sort of a secondary chargen.

you could divert from the starting area (ar0602 for bg2) and into some other modified zone where an invisible creature, via dialog, would reconstruct the PC so all sorts of variables could be set regarding appearance. a little un-immersive but since it's at the very beginning of the game who would really care? conclude the dialog by returning to the normal NEWGAME script.

I would, for one. Besides, the PC can customise his colours at any time the same way he can his script (even more so with a mod like Rupert the Dye Merchant).

The immersion thing was partly why I asked, it's easy to direct comments at an NPC - I can't imagine that many people specifically alter an NPCs skin/hair colours - but when it comes to the protagonist it's a whole other ball game.

I'll probably pop in ToBEx at some point - it looks dangerously fun to play with at the moment, pity I have coursework battering me into submission. I'd also have to find my ToB disk as from the threads it seems it won't work with a no-CD patch

[Okay, scratch that I've literally just found the disk :woot:]
