My entire party died during the final BG1 battle.  I didn't even know that there was a different way to go to BGII, but I'd never seen the comment about telling the dukes about what had happened so I returned to the palace.  As soon as I walked in the door, belt starts talking to me about going on a mission on amn, etc etc.  Lights go off in my head and I realize that this is the way to bring your team over from BG1 to BG2.  All this is awesome, except that instead of sending me away I get a ctd.  Should I resurrect my party and try it again, is this a known error, etc?

edit:  so I raised the party and talked to belt, now I don't get a CTD but I get a black screen that looks like it has a character in the far bottom right.  I can't do anything to change the viewpoint, there is no cursor, etc etc.  Playing Big World.

Post the assertion error from your Baldur.err text file if there is one, or from TobEx.log if you've got that.

Eh, don't bother attaching it; just open it with a text editor (Notepad or whatever) and copy and paste the contents here.

this is weird, I went to the other room for a minute and left the screen on, when I walked back my party was ambushed by renal bloodscalp's thieves and bg2 started up just fine. I'll still post the .err info tonight when I get home, however.
