Missing attack animations

Hi guys I've noticed in my game that when my pc is equipped with a two handed weapon one attack animation seems to be missing. When the pc swings a two handed sword for example there is no problem. However when the pc tries to thrust the sword forward my pc vanishes leaving a floating sword for about half a second. I know its a small thing but I am finding it very irritating now that I have noticed it. Can anyone help me solve this?

What is the sex, race and class of your PC? What armor is he/she wearing? And is he using just a normal 2-handed sword or what?

my pc is a male human mage so quarterstaves are the main issue. I shadowkeeperd in the use any item rogue ability to see if it was affecting other equiptment as well. It is affecting all melee two handed weapons. It happens no matter what robe or armor I have equipped but generally I equip the robe of the abyss (I'm not sure what mod that comes from specifically as I used the big world setup).

I have no clue what could cause this, but possibly something newer in TobEx. Unfortunately, it's hard to test without that, since it's your first mod installed, unless you have or can create another BG2 instance without it.

I have no clue what could cause this, but possibly something newer in TobEx. Unfortunately, it's hard to test without that, since it's your first mod installed, unless you have or can create another BG2 instance without it.

Isn't it enough to launch BG2 via BGmain.exe instead of TobEXLauncher?

Hi guys I just tested running bgmain.exe instead and the bug is not there. Should I run the game from this instead?

Not really... if you can live with that bug, using TobEX launcher should fix many more things. TobEX is designed to fix many error in the original .exe, but unfortunately new problems can always come out. You should only use the original .exe if nastier bugs come out.
On the other hand, it shows that Miloch is apparently right, it is probably a TobEX issue, and I'll report it in the specific forum.

Okay thanks a lot for your time though. I think what I will do is leave the use any Item ability on and use one handed weapons.

I am unable to reproduce at the moment. Can you attach a saved game? (preferably earlier in the piece so that I don't have to edit it so much to be able to load the game in vanilla)

Hi thanks for looking into this ascension64. I just tried to upload my BALDUR.SAV the forum said I cannot upload this type of file. Is that the file type you are looking for or am a being dull(very probably).

Also the baldur.gam and other files in the folder contain information about the saved game. You'd better zip the whole folder which contains the sav file (whose name is usually 000000[some number]-[name of saved game])

I am not so sure it is to do with the TOBex now as it is not always happening (probably why I didn't notice it sooner) I don't know why it is sometimes there and sometimes not. I have uploaded a save from the end of baldur's gate 1 around where I first noticed it happening I just tested it and the bug was there (my own npcs gave up their lives so I could test this lol) Please excuse the uberness of the characters as I have played through the campaign many times before and wanted to mess around this time. The characters are fully loaded with their mod weaponry I've left it like that in case one of those items is causing the issue. thanks again for looking into this I know its a small bug but it can get very irritating.
p.s. sorry everyone is invisible but the flaming fist is still hostile to me

Thanks I will have a look. I will not be able to investigate your items because I am able to test only on a vanilla BGT install with TobEx. I'll let you know if I find something though.

I couldn't test the mod items because I don't have an install with the relevant mods. However, the vanilla items that were present appeared to work properly. The animations could be missing because the ITMs haven't correctly set the animation graphic.
Does running through bgmain.exe instead of TobExLoader.exe still correct the problem with a specific item?
