I need these phrases translated to both German and Russian:

@20000 = ~Trival dual-classing.~
@20001 = ~Deprecated - doesn't yet work~
@21000 = ~Party Members can facestab too!~
@21001 = ~Always~
@21002 = ~Only when under the effect of Non-Detection~
@21003 = ~Requires 'Configurable Backstab Every Hit' from Acension64's TobEx (http://bit.ly/i8awTx)~
@21004 = ~%SOURCE_EXT% effect cloning is not (yet) supported. Report this and I'll support it.~


and these translated only to Russian:

Prowler: @2* and @190* are in DOS, whereas @191* and those lines are in game. The first column ('Dexterity') is the name of the in-game stat, the second column ('dextrous') is the corresponding adjective, and the third column ('more_dextrous') the adjective's comparative; the fourth and fifth ('DEX' and '5') are scripting-related and shouldn't be translated.

As usual, you should upload the thing as an attached .txt to avoid the forum software destroying your encoding.

I think after compiling it will look like ~But <HESHE> has also utilized <HISHER> %Item of Stat Boosting%.~

Not gonna be translatable. Strong/dextrous/etc. differ for male/female in other languages, Russian in particular.
That's what you get to deal with when smartass modders interwine their code with English text strings, instead of giving a thought about poor translator guys and supplying a clean TRA ;)

In case Bigg won't listen to me and recode the thing, these are better off this way:
более_ловкий -> проворнее
более_здоровый -> выносливее
более_харизматичный -> харизматичнее

@20000: trivial; in this case, it means that when you do a dual X (Y) -> Z you regain X's old abilities at 2nd level rather than (Y+1)th. Of course, the component isn't actually available (turns out I didn't reverse enough of the .exe), so it doesn't matter short term.

@19102:
SAY ~But <HESHE> has also utilized <HISHER>...~
IF ~Something()~ THEN REPLY ~Strength~ GOTO blahblah
IF ~Something()~ THEN REPLY ~Dexterity~ GOTO blahblah
etc.

Re: using 'real' .tra entries, the day I copy/paste that sort of code rather than abstract it with a 2da is the day I'll eat my modding license. I think I can code it so that it generates dialog/dialogf pairs if you provide both stats.2da and statsf.2da; would that be enough for Russian? If not, in this particular case I can actually create individual .tra entries for the six attributes, but I'd rather keep my code DRY and not let it DIE.

Statsf.2da should do the trick, I think. Adjective and comparative. Sorry for not attaching the update, but I would rather stay away from encoding, since I only deal with english.

Copypasta is faster than programming this sort of thing in tp2 short-term; the advantage of 'my' approach lies in easier support down the line (and I'll have you know that I was writing scripts at run-time without strict need before we had INNER_ACTION :D ).

Instead I've been talking about involving non-coders into this, or at least not giving enough thought about simplifying life for them - because translators are contributors to a mod, not idiot users who do not check on readme files first.

It looks to me like I'm helping you, am I not? :) I know I'm not proactive about supporting translators when doing tricky stuff, but I'm not too good at thinking ahead about translation problems (keep in mind those strings were using 'he' rather than <HESHE> because I'm that good at supporting females).
